For us, the most damage was on the kitchen wall beside our son's high chair. The food stains from dropped bits of mac-n-cheese, avocado, etc. just would not come out, even with a magic eraser and wiping them down right away. We ultimately repainted the wall ourselves before we moved out to avoid the mark-up on repainting from the management company.

I love the Sh-Mop, which can be found here: www.thecleanteam.com It comes with regular, cotton mop heads, which are great for really cleaning the floor, but I also got the extra microfiber heads, which I use every day. They are machine washable and seem to pick up everything - pounds of dog hair, gallons of crushed cheerios, etc. Highly recommend the Sh-Mop!

Or, they are simple enough to construct. We built covers for ours using wood (duh...) and some decorative metal grates I found at Michael's.
