I'm just using the old fashioned stuff, but I'd give my eye teeth to have a bidet. I love those things. If I ever re-do the bathrooms in my house there's no question that I'd get a bidet. Apartment Therapy Re-Nest | Survey: What's Your Toilet Paper Alternative? |

I haven't used disposables since I was 17, 12 years ago. I had a keeper for about 8 or 9 years and then bought a Diva Cup. I also use washable cotton pads, mostly at night. I'm still on my first set of those. I doubt they will ever wear out. And it's really not a big deal to was them. My husband loves MSG, Bob's season salt being his favorite. I find the taste nauseating. If he puts it on his food and I take a bite I can immediately tell and I don't like it. Blech! Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | What's the Deal with MSG? |

My mother in law is a pack rat. She has rooms that you can't walk into and goes to the veteran's thrift shop every Tuesday when it's half off for seniors and buys more crap she doesn't need "because it's such a good deal". My house is about half carpet, and about half terrazzo tile. I have a long haired dog, a cat, and long hair myself. Dust bunnies abound. After I vacuum the carpet I take the nozzle of the vacuum around the baseboards, legs of the stools, and corners. There are a few places that they especially like to gather. The vacuum nozzle sucks them right up and it only takes as long as it take me to walk around the perimeter and the few other hot spots. Not too bad, at all. Oh, and a gas stove instead of electric and shelves in the alcove where the fridge originally went. Re-finish the wood cabinets and new nobs and drawer pulls. A bright splash of paint on the few non-wood wall spaces. Maybe new counter tops . . . As long as I'm dreaming. More light! My kitchen is all dark wood paneling and cabinets with one smallish window. A solar tube would be great to brighten it up. Any other ideas? Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Renters: What Would You Change About Your Kitchen If You Could? |

I feel you on the pantry bugs. I live in Houston, TX and it's a constant battle. I've had to stop buying any bulk products because they are invariably infested. I keep my four and rice in the freezer because they got infested in sealed containers. They probably had bugs in them before I got them home. Yesterday I had to toss my loose Thai ice tea (I had special ordered it and everything) because it had bugs in it. :( Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Kitchen Cure Week #1: Clean Out Fridge and Pantry The Kitchen Cure Spring 2009 |

I took my "Before" pictures and cleaned and organized my cupboards. I ran out of steam and did a half assed job on the fridge and freezer, but at least it's something. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Kitchen Cure Week #1: Clean Out Fridge and Pantry The Kitchen Cure Spring 2009 |
