I've seen this project in person. It's a really great space and feels much larger than it's approximate 320 sq. ft. Kim and her students are really creative. I have a B.Arch and a Masters of Design Build and they put me to shame.

Talk about a suprise. I actually helped design and build these cabins as part of the Ghost Project ran by Brian MacKay Lyons. I have physically hammered in some of the nails. Twenty-four people, including myself, started these off in a two week design-build workshop. They were completed later and I would love to go back and see the finished product in person.

Another good book: "Wabi-Sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets, and Philosophers". One of my architecture professors had me read this when I was too obsessed with perfection. Made me appreciate imperfection due to the human hand. http://www.amazon.com/Wabi-Sabi-Artists-Designers-Poets-Philosophers/dp/1880656124/ref=pd_sim_b_2

I found the perfect smallish shade (for my lamp also hobnail) at Kmart of all places. It was covered in a lineny fabric and cheap as well.

Check out the Condesa DF. It's so pretty, even though it is pricey. Also, it's in a really nice neighborhood. Website: http://www.condesadf.com/

Q- Target has tons of different string lights in their garden section.

Pascale- I would definely keep the avocado bathroom sink. I think you could make it work.

Thanks everyone for all the great solutions. I will definitely have to try some of them out this weekend. LaDonnaNichole- the blue piece is a La Solana cookie jar. La Solana is a vintage pottery line out of Arizona I believe. It comes in really great colors like turquoise, green, and yellow. Just google it or search for it on ebay. You should find plenty.

I'm pretty sure she went to architecture school for some period of time before persuing acting. Now that doesn't guarantee that one is good at designing furniture (or buildings for that matter), but we'll wait and see.
