I've had lots of fun with www.bookcrossing.com. I live in a tourist mecca so I put them in hostels, laundromats, coffee places, etc. It's been interesting to see where they end up.

I've always loved tented ceilings but stop when I think: SPIDERS. Has anyone done this and not had extra spiders?

I was in Sweden two Christmas seasons ago and stayed with a lovely family on a farm (in the family since the 1300's). They served us the bottled and homemade Glogg and it was good. I kept expecting it to taste like Coke though. What a wonderful Christmas Day. Go Sweden!

I downloaded this program (free) and use it all the time. I am a fiber artist and after drawing something I can easily scale it up or down to make a pattern. It's fantastic. I've also made roman blinds with my drawings on them by printing the images onto printable fabric and piecing it together. Have fun with it!

I had a downstairs neighbor who hoarded things (junk), never cleaned her apartment because it was full of stuff, had two dogs, two cats and a bunch of rats in cages. It STUNK so bad. I almost gagged every time I came home to our communal entry. She would buy cheap perfume and spay it out in the entry to try and cover up the stench. The smell permeated my apartment too. Finally, with the help of the condo board we got her out of there. When she left the realtor had to have a contractor come in and tear out the kitchen (cat poop inside the cabinets) and all the flooring, baseboards, doors, door trim and DRYWALL because it was covered in animal feces. Even the dining chandelier had cat crap on it because the stuff was piled that high in the room! It cost over $10,000 to make it habitable again.

My friend and I attended the Beatles concert at the Hollywood Bowl as 13-year-olds. It was INCREDIBLE. Very hard to believe it was 42 years ago! LOL! Thanks to my parents for standing in line with us all night to get tickets and waiting outside during the concert. Oh, and I was madly in love with Ringo!

What is up with surly clerks in these places? I went to Roche in Seattle years ago to buy some furniture and was snubbed. So I went to another similar store down the street and bought furniture where the sales staff was very nice and helpful. Go figure.

I have a lot of beneficial bats and eagles hanging out (no pun intended) in my yard and neighborhood. Won't this thing cut them if they fly too close? Ish. Why don't they make one with a cage around it like my household fan?

I ordered kitchen cabinets and k-tops for my house in Seattle and when I moved to Alaska I did the same thing (this time over the phone). They shrink-wrapped my order on a pallet and barged it up here. Several people in my small town have ordered kitchen cabinets from Ikea -- they are reasonably priced and beautiful with a full selection. Go Ikea -- and Yeah, I'd spend the night! ;-)
