I do a ton of things with them. I either fill them with any kind of nut (cashews are the best, but with pecans it's reminiscent of pecan pie). I cute them up and put them in my homemade granola. Also raw date balls, its a mixture of cashews, dates, a bit of honey, and raw shredded coconut. Delish!

I've discovered fresh blueberries this summer. The ones from a farmers market are so much better than the ones from the store. I'm addicted!

I loathed the though of eating tomatoes all of my life, up until this past year. That was when I started reading food blogs. I saw so many delicious looking recipes on your site and just had to give them another try! So thanks to you fine folks here at The Kitchn I am now head over heels in love with all tomatoes.

I love love loved the movie! I thought they did a good job of interweaving the two story lines. I'll probably have to go see it again. I especially appreciated seeing the food and how Mastering the Art of French Cooking came to be. And of course, Meryl Streep did a fabulous job.

I did this a couple weeks ago. We took little tablets. It made lemons taste like candy. It also made wine taste like Manischewitz. It was an all around good/interesting experience. We also had stomaches later that day.

There is life (for foodies) in the West Suburbs. If you are around Geneva (extremely close to Batavia, and St. Charles) there is the cutest french farmers market on Sunday mornings next to the train station. Around this area which is downtown Geneva (3rd street) there are tons of specialty food shops. One of my fav's is the Olive Oil Mill on James St.

Thanks for the great post! I'm looking forward to exploring these places and finding inspiration!

My boyfriend and I were in the same boat a couple of months ago. We bought these knives at JcPenny. It's a $20 set for one big knife and one small one.

They have been one of the best things we've bought for the kitchen. Good Luck!
