Great job for such a short period of time. Where can I find a small basic home office desk like yours?

This looks pretty great! I have a completely white tiled bathroom (NY rental). I need help with storage. I would love to have a shelf placed on the tile like the pic above. How do I get this done? Ofcourse without ruining the tiled walls?

This post came at a perfect time! This week I decided I want a chandelier in the bdrm. Where can I find one that is not over the top expensive and not too difficult to install? Ideas?

I have been searching for a while now on ways to make my entryway more functional. I live in a prewar apartment in NY and when you open the door there is a small hallway entryway with no room for a table or shelf b/c its narrow. You come in more and there is the dining area.
Where can I hang my keys? Where can I put something to hold incomingmail? any ideas would be appreciated.

I have a Snake Plant that was just given to me in my new apartment. I've been watering it once a week but now the edges are turning brown and yellow. My apartment does not have too much lighting. What do you suggest I do to keep it alive, its only been 3 weeks! Help!!!!

Bepsf,
Thanks for the feedback. It does make sense to leave it the way it is. At some point I will change the roman shades I have to a solid color and at that point look at adding curtains :).

I go back and forth between writing my lists on paper. Now I keep them mostly in my blackberry.
Groceries
Home projects
To do list for work
Purchases that need to be made for the home/events, bdays etc..

Thank you for the great article on Roman Shades! We just moved into an apartment where I have installed Roman Shades in the living room. Very nice ones from Bed Bath & Beyond.

My only dilemma is should I leave the windows alone with the roman shades? Or..what kind of window treatments do you suggest I can use as far as curtains? Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Where can I find those pretty dressmaker shape soaps? I've been looking all over for them.
Thank you!

I live in Queens, NY. Its very interesting to read all these stories. I know that in NY its hard to not deal with the whole Mice problem. However, I have a HUUUUGE, phobia to mice. So there is no choice for me or my husband (poor guy) to have to try and keep them out. From what I've read here you are all doing the right thing. Before moving to a new place I always inspect any open gaps or holes, especially behind the fridge or stove. Make sure not to leave food lying around, crumbs or splatters in the kitchen. Make sure you clean the lid under the stove top. That is a #1 feeding ground for them.

My husband (my hero) usually gets peanut butter traps and lines them up between doorways and that's how we've caught them.

Hope this is helpful. :)

I would go with Roman Shades. I'm breaking in a new apartment and just brought some really nice ones. They give the room a nice casual yet upscale look, depending on the fabric and design you get. Good luck!

I really love the color you have in the livingroom space. Its exactly what I'm looking for since it's very soothing. I noticed you mentioned you had it custom made. Great idea! Congrats on this stylish home!
