OHHH....this would be a great way to keep around those cute kid's shirts that no longer fit the kiddos!!
I can see my little on with a way cute Superman tote bag for his toys. OR...make a bunch and put up hooks in their room for toy storage in these homemade bags!!

I recently made a chore chart for our son who just turned four. Since he can't read and understands his chores much better by using pictures...we had fun making him a photo chart! It's great because he now knows all these items must be done before he gets his 'privileges' of screen time or special park trips.
A great way to foster a little more independence in our little man!

Here's a peek...

I have to say that I have LOVED the book so far. It is very relaxed and not too preachy.
I do think that agriculture should be taught in schools. So many kids today have no idea about how things grow and where it all comes from. I even find myself not thinking about it many times, BUT we have a huge garden and are striving to make more and more of our food our home grown variety.
The way Kingsolver drives home the local food movement is so great! She doesn't make you feel guilty, but just educates you and helps you to realize the consequences.
Ironically, we went to a talk on organic foods last night and I kept whispering to my husband...that's in the book, that's in the book! Such a great read and I'm only a couple chapters in.

My sister in law made one of these! She used big cappacino mugs and actually screwed them to the wall. They were all bright colors so it was really cool looking. I put it up on my Flickr album if you want to see http://www.flickr.com/photos/81538549@N00/1223207458/
It's in progress here, but you get the idea.

Well, I didn't think of it but Oxyclean might not be the best. Surprisingly enough though...they sell Oxyclean at Wild Oats and that's supposed to be a place that sells all natural stuff. The original recipe only had the oxyclean as an option. I'm sure you could omit it or just find another oxygen bleaching agent that's natural...or use the sun for bleaching.

My favorite recipe is...
1 bar of shredded natural soap
1 cup borax
1 cup Arm and Hammer washing soda (not baking soda)
1/4 cup of oxyclean

Put it together in a tub and add 1 TABLESPOON per load. I've given the recipe to a bunch of folks already and haven't had any negative reactions so far...just happy moms saving money! Honestly...it's like 5 cents a load!!

We just installed bamboo flooring in our front office. I can't say anything about the long run because we just got done last week, but I can say it looks great and the price was very close to wood.

With the dogs though, I would have to say it does dent easily. My son dropped a wooden sorting cube from about 2 feet up and there was a dent left. You might want to look for something different in that way.

Lastly, the staff person at Lumber Liquidators, where we got our flooring, also said that if you get the carbonized bamboo it is even softer. The bamboo is actually burned to get the darker color and that's why it's called carbonized.

Just my 2 cents. You can check out our floor on our blog at In the Key of Life

Just wanted to pipe up to say that we also LOVE gDiapers. We started off with regular prefolds and the Bummis Super Whisper wraps (which I still think are the best wraps). Then I tried out the g's and I just love the fact that I can switch from a 'flushable' to cloth without changing the cover!!! We use cloth in the gpants while at home and then a flushable at night and when we're out and about. This is definitely a system that works great for us....and they are SUPER cute.
I also love the fact that gDiapers has EXCEPTIONAL customer service. They are more than happy to answer any 'dumb' question and they totally stand behind their product if you ever have any problems. They also have a yahoo forum for questions and such. I learned so much there and felt as if I was totally supported (by other moms and the company) with my choice to use the g's!
