Bethany Nauert's really stood out, but I also loved the lighting and composition of Lilias Petit-Scott's photo.

I'm worried about that curtain by the gas stove.

I once complained to a friend that I was so poor that I couldn't eat healthy foods anymore, and she flat out laughed at me. Five years later, and some learning about what healthy food is, I now spend 1/8th of the cost on food as I did in the past and eat a very healthy and tasty diet. Fresh produce, dried beans, and brown rice are some of the cheapest things you can buy.
I feel only people who feel a sense of lack, and live in a state of fear would need to hoard processed foods, or to feel a sense of security about having enough and being fed.
The practicality of it is ridiculous.

I think distressed wall can work, but you need a sharper juxtapose with some "new". 1 out of 4 walls only, or pristine floors and modern windows. In New Orleans alot of the old and interesting walls are covered with a sealant so you can see the history, but are also able to wash it clean.

There were so many details that make it polished. I really liked the window treatments in the bathroom. This smaller space feels so luxurious and glamorous. Beautiful.
Corina should do this for a living!

I'm actually looking forward to doing the kitchen again. It gets so much use, and I seem to appreciate it the most when this room is clean.

On another note - have you been to unhappyhipsters dot com? hilarious.

I thought I was a home cure rockstar, but looking at my cumbersome bookcase is kicking my ass. This will be my hardest challenge yet.

The 20/20 Home Cure

This is my first Cure, but I find the format really manageable. Why is this so much fun??

Today I am making a home made version of febreeze with vinegar, water, baking soda and essential oils. Lots of recipes online.

Day 5: Buy or Replenish One Eco Cleaner
The 20/20 Home Cure

It started with the inspiring photo challenge. I decided to go through all my inspirational magazines I already had, tear out the pictures I wanted and recycle the rest. 7 hours later and I have two pieces of furniture for sale on craigslist, and two rooms in my house are completely re-arranged and cleaned top to bottom. I'm a bit tired, but more than happy to re-gift the stuff I pulled from the corners yesterday. I'm so excited about where this 20/20 will end.

This apartment feels so familiar and homey, without feeling weighed down and cluttered. Everything is 'just enough'. I love the small details, like the candle and matches on the table behind the couch; ready to be lit.

I think the gray can also really work well with the shiny appliances you already have, plus a metal dish rack, and a retro fan to switch out for the one you have now. Shining up the hardware already suggested would bring it together even more.
I love your kitchen!

This article was really helpful for me. I will have to remember to move accessories before I start trying to replace furniture when something feels off. A reminder to look at the color balance may save me significant amount of cash. :-)
