I love it. I feel like someone created the home of my dreams.

I think I have the same sofa from Craye & Barrel. I got rid of the droopy back cushions entirely, and used throw pillows, but now those are annoying too. Plus the beige/brown muddies every colour scheme I've tried. I feel your pain!

I felt calmer after looking at these pictures. It feels like a real home that grounded people live in. I love that it doesn't have any of the items that are "trendy" and seen in every other tour. It's unique, and a beautiful home!

I was actually going to sell some of the furniture in my room, and buy something else to fit the layout as it was. The room is small, and with a King size bed taking up the majority of space I didn't think there was any other option. But today's task made me try again, despite my belief there was nothing that could be done, and it turns out I was able to make something work with what we already have. No purchase necessary!
I'm so inspired by the idea of looking at things differently.

Our bedroom. It is the only place we both feel needs work. I'm really looking for guidance with the challenge, as I've tried a few times to make it feel more inviting, and failed.

One of my favourite tours on AP in a long time. So often it feels like I'm looking at the same choices but I was excited to hit the "next" button to see what was next each time.
So well edited. It feels fresh and yet cozy. Thanks for the tour!

So refreshing to see a home that feels so *homey*. I love the uncluttered simplicity and country charm. I found myself daydreaming of visiting those rooms.

This home has all the elements that are New Orleans to me; the drapes and tassel tie back, the brass and pleated shade lamps, the brick, the high ceilings. The room is so well done! The refined luxury and history of the city come through and it makes me want to go back.

I might be worried about what kind of plumbing work might be needed to fit your finds in. Plumbing is expensive, and if you have to do extra work to make refurbished pieces fit (i.e. sometimes the holes for faucets and fixtures create refitting issues) than it may or may not be a cost savings. I would ask a Plumber first.
I think if you are worried about being a hoarder, you are not a hoarder. :-)

I think any re-use of old furniture some one was trying to get rid of is wonderful. And the finished room is beautiful, fun, and chic! Beautiful job on the whole room

I have to agree about the bar soap. No plastic, lasts longer, and can be made all natural with essential oils. I switched back a year ago- both for the shower and for hand washing. I still keep a refillable gel soap container & soap around for guests, but my friends are fine with bar soap too, so it rarely gets used

It's a beautiful outdoor table. I like it better than any glass table it had to replace.

I once complained to a friend that I was so poor that I couldn't eat healthy foods anymore, and she flat out laughed at me. Five years later, and some learning about what healthy food is, I now spend 1/8th of the cost on food as I did in the past and eat a very healthy and tasty diet. Fresh produce, dried beans, and brown rice are some of the cheapest things you can buy.
I feel only people who feel a sense of lack, and live in a state of fear would need to hoard processed foods, or to feel a sense of security about having enough and being fed.
The practicality of it is ridiculous.
