Thank you!

I love my CSA. I get wonderful vegetables and eggs, and I've met some nice people (plus, I get to leave work at a decent hour on pickup days). But I also often find myself feeling a bit anxious about it. Oh my god! What's in the box? What is this? I can't let any of this go to waste! Cook all the things!

There is some really good advice in the posts you've listed above. I"m looking forward to reading more about other people's CSA adventures.

Wow - it's really beautiful!

I'd be terrified of all that wonderful white, though. Plain-old forgiving brown sofa for me...

I didn't like the smell of World's Best either - found it really overpowering.

Also switched to EverClean and highly recommend it. FreshStep Unscented is okay too. I keep a woven sisal doormat in front of the box - cheap hardware store item - which keeps the tracked litter contained. I just lift the mat and sweep it up with a brush and dustpan every couple of days.

This is kind of creepy - the marble wall is so cool, clean, and solid, and the rustic space behind it is so...uh, cell-like.

CSA season is about to kick in. How about some What's-on-the-Box-and-What-Do-I-Do-With-It posts? Might be fun to follow a few people through a season of CSA cooking.

Ugh - that metal chair looks the way I feel after a long day at the desk. Ouch.

In my workspace I have a good chair, a footrest, and good lighting, but the best thing I've done has been to take a minimum five minute break from my desk every hour. - especially when I'm up against a big hairy deadline. I set a timer. I stand up, stretch a bit, move my achy joints, walk around a little, stand up for awhile. I've been doing it consistently for 6 months. It helps. And my work is better for it.

We just aren't built to sit and click for 10 hours a day.

I lived on the Lower East Side of Manhattan for nearly 20 years, where there was very little green space. Watching the transition of Tompkins square from needle park to shantytown to manicured yuppie playground to its current stroller-clogged rat-infested incarnation has been an astonishing study in urban evolution.

Now I live way uptown near Ft Tryon Park. Couldn't be more different. Every morning I climb the big hill into the park and marvel at the rugged granite outcrops and the sweeping view of the Hudson and Palisades. I can't believe I live here. It's so beautiful.

So....didja really mean to say that they are not comfy? Ah, for want of a comma.... LOL

I love the colorful cast iron pots hanging above the stove in the last pic, but jeez louise that must weigh a ton! I'd worry about being able to anchor the shelf into the wall properly. (Probably says more about my skills than anything else....)

Love the cheerful yellow lamps, especially against that pretty blue/gray wall.
