Suggesting Decor Changes in a Shared Space? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy New York

This whole article is ridiculous. Why give this guy any attention? May as well devote several pages to Robert Moses and drool excitedly about how re destroyed entire neighborhoods and the City it could have been while you're at it. Sure, he did some, the same way a fire destroys an entire forest thereby, providing space for new plants.

History has shown that he was a failure in epic proportions and a unknown little underdog named Jane Jacobs was the winner. We can't raze buildings like his fast enough.

Thank god he can no longer design brutalistic fugly buildings. His "work" and work like his are hideous that have marred many cities for years to come, thanks to him and his contemporaries.

Good riddance. Next Frank Gehry.

Obviously, apartmenttherapy is not the target audience for this and quite frankly, from the comments left by some readers here, are a few steps below on the social, economic, and evolutionary ladder to fully appreciate this.

The Robb Report, apartmenttherapy is not.

Congratulations on your 1st home. I do like the idea of opening up the kitchen and as others have said, to open up the little wall by the front door and the wall and door by the 2nd bath. The farm table/rustic table to work as dining table and kitchen prep space I really like.

I also like the idea of a pedestal flat tv stand in the middle of the room. Inbetween the coffee table and dining table. When not used, it can be moved towards a wall.

BTW, what is that across from your master bath sink? Urinal? Bidet?

One major thing that bothered me when I was a guest at a friends house for a weekend was the roommate of my friend wanted and voiced an expectation for me to clean up the kitchen, and clean the bathroom and to pitch in the electric and cable bills! Come on, what a cheap a-h*le. The whole reason for staying with them was to save some cash from the hotels and to return the favor when they visit me in NYC. But, if I would have known it was expected for me to be a maid, I would have gone to a hotel instead.

I guess buying lunch, dinner and drinks (there share of bill $400) for them wasn't enough. I had to scrub the toilet as well.

In the pic I see six people sleeping and a possible seventh sleeping bag that is empty. That's a lot of guests!

Is that a vintage real or vintage knockoff eams lounge chair & ottoman?

Ditto on the sofa placement that's blocking the door? Everything else is pretty & charming.

I live close to Sid's but I don't go there anymore and would rather walk a little further to some of the hardware stores on Court St by the cinema or take the subway to Lowe's and get a man with a van for my load of purchases. After reading the 2005 article on Sid's and the way Sid's is today - I can't help but think the 2005 article is talking about a different store.

Rude employees, never smiles, price 2x - 3x the cost at Home Depot and Lowe's, outdated merchandise sold as the latest new models, and ad nauseum....
