What's with "gifted"? Gift, the noun, derives from give. Is there something wrong with saying "a friend moved and gave me hers"?

Not to be a curmudgeon, but a little piece of me dies every time someone turns "gift" into a verb instead of using its perfectly good verb form, "to give."

I agree with toypixie -- the table and chairs are great as they are; what you need is some colorful curtains and some flowers for the table. I honestly think the miniblinds are the biggest thing making the table look dated!

Let me add that some recycled brands are better than others, with regard to the softness. The Green Forest brand is much softer, and the Trader Joe's brand is both acceptably soft AND thicker than the average recycled tp.

The Seventh Generation stuff is so rough that my ex referred to it as "John Wayne toilet paper."

I'd go with a very pale pink, or else a light linen color.

This is very DIY-able as long as your dress is not made of silk. Most wedding dresses are made of an inexpensive polyester, and more often than not, you pay the $90 and they will put it in a washing machine anyway.

Instructions shamelessly stolen from Bridal Bargains: place one bead/sequin in a glass of water overnight. If it doesn't dissolve, you can safely wash the dress. I'd use gentle cycle and/or a front loader, or hand wash as Cambria describes.

I do what konar does, except I use the handle of a butter knife.
