It's unclear if this would dramatically affect flow or view, etc. but I would get someone to build you a bookshelf/divider that comes out from that wall and perhaps matches the other white shelves you have ... It wouldn't have to be very wide at the top and would fill in that space nicely. I'm imagining it like bookshelves I've seen installed under staircases ... the bottom shelf the longest and the top one a tiny little triangle. It's great. I think it's a breath of fresh air in our fair city. I'd way rather see something avant-garde like this than the awful faux-victorian crap that usually gets built. As for fitting in, it keeps to the roof line and the facade plane of the rest of the block, which is much more considerate than most new housing. Apartment Therapy - 113 Germania StreetSlinks n. Instead of looking at big chains, try looking at antique stores that specialize in 20th century furniture, you'll probably find plenty of beds. Unless it's a King size, as that is a relatively new size. I've found that a high quality old piece can often be had for the same or less than a new, mass produced thing. Try shops like Apartment or x-21, there are others right in the vicinity there on valencia st. Good Questions: Modern beds with space for a box spring? |

I worked in an office with some of these chairs for a while ... I'll try to be delicate about this: as a man, I found these chairs to be very uncomfortable. It was somewhat like sitting on a wide bicycle seat - lots of pressure between the thighs. I'm a skinny little guy, too. To clarify, it was the drafting height chair/stool - not the desk height one. It has a foot rest, but no matter. I hated it. Good Questions: Any Thought OnThe HAG Capisco Chair? |
