nice renovation, but these projects never work, churches are not good prospects for conversions to living spaces, and this is another case in point.

remove the faux beam and re-run the wiring. its not difficult to re-run bx or conduit or whatever.

in my experience, european kitchens are over rated.
you'll get better finishing, better quality materials (you ought to see the crap they make the cabinets out of) and better installation if you work with a good millworker.
so i agree with the comment above. go local and it will be better all around, and cheaper by a 1/3, at least.

bed against the straight wall makes the best of a bad situation... the bed has more repose and more privacy in this location. ie. there is a more natural relationship with some of the key features of the room. ie. the entry and window.
