I have several dogs too and I've also been looking for a area rug for the living room. I'm very seriously considering Flor carpet tiles. I'd prefer a persian rug, but since an individual Flor tile can be cleaned if it gets soiled it seems a very practical option with dogs.(I swear I don't work for Flor) Which Rug to Go with Very Burgundy Couch? Love the sofa! I hope the cushion covers are removable and replaceable. I am looking for something inexpensive with sturdy indoor/outdoor fabric/replaceable cushion covers for my tv room. I have 3 large dogs that are pretty rough on upholstery and I'm afraid a leather sofa might be a chewable temtation. Those outdoor chairs are super too. I've been thinking of doing this too, but since the kitchen is a high traffic area I'm concerned it wont hold up too well. I have a small kitchen too, so putting down new tile or linoleum wouldnt be cost prohibative. Painting a Linoleum Floor Color Therapy |

Sorry, but I quite prefer the yellow. It is warmer and brighter and cheerier, IMO. Maybe the two pic's were taken at different times of day, or was it overcast when the after pic was taken? Making a Change: What A Difference Paint Makes |

Definitely one of my favorite tours. I especially love the fact that just about everything is vintage here. I've seen every piece at 2nd hand/vintage shops myself and he puts it all together marvelously. Next time I need new flooring, I'm definitely going for the brick. Can't do that now, but I can have a martini! Michael's Mid-Century Modern Abode House Tour |

Emmi above is right. Supplying the saltwater tropical fish trade is destroying the very reefs from which the fish are captured; most of which die in transport, which of course inflates their prices. Having said that, I do like aquariums, just make it freshwater. Freshwater fish are captive bred, so there is little raiding wild populations going on, plus you can fill your tank with aquatic plants, which are also domestically propagated. I keep thinking of getting an aquarium, but the stands are uniformly ugly. Non-Traditional Aquariums for the Modern Home |

What and attractive couple.........of pooches! Ok, the humans are a very attractive couple as well. Beautiful home. I would want to show it off as much as possible too. the only negative is (and I think I'm also guilty of this); devotion to MCM purity. When all the furnishings are well known MCM pieces the space looks more like a showroom rather that a home. I think I've been doing the same thing because I love everything MCM, but it starts looking so generic. Julie & Rob's Current Twist on Mid Century Modern House Tour |

this reminds me of the outcome of a contest in Australia. Artists sent in their work anomously to be judged by a jury of professional art critics; the winner was a little girl whose mom had entered her painting. It created quite an uproar. It's Easy, Baby: DIY Abstract Art with a Twist |

I think the seller is obligated to disclose that such an event occured, but the laws regarding that may be different in your state, county municpality. Ypu should check on that. You may be able to get even more of a discount. I know many people would be offput by something like that, which is why it is selling for such a good deal. You have to go by your own feelings on the matter. Personally I wouldnt worry about it too much. While a suicide is sad, it has nothing to do with the you or the house. the question is can you live there without thinking of it everyday? I could, but you might not. sigh, homes like this make me depressed. it's just so nice and warm/welcoming yet cool and uncluttered (at least for the photo shoot). i love the two-toned rug in the living room and the flor carpet tile configuration in the dining area-monochrome with a few blocks of color. a great idea worth stealing. I should find a alternative, but jiminy xmas the possiblities are endless and i knew i'd get tired whatever color i chose in short order. So basic bright white for me. that is freaking awesome! I'm going hunting for some pbn landscapes soon. can we get a how too, and how much $$ for all the various paints. I imagine one would take the pbn box cover to the paint store and match the colors. that could get pretty pricy when 12-24 colors may be needed. Great start to this series. Being inspired by a shirt is an awesome idea. My problem committing to color is that I'm fickle. I'm sure as soon as I paint a wall, I'll want to change it. At least pillows and art can be changed out easily. Week 1: Color Families The Color Cure |
