that tree trunk makes me mad. and i LIKE trees.

not necessarily true; in my world, the smaller the bathroom, the harder it is to contort into the nooks and crannies to clean the filth left by my houseful of boys. i hate that i can't reach the space between toilet and tub without sticking my face in the toilet.

a few thoughts:

*if you want it to look a little less girly, try flourescent pink (sparingly, a splash here and a stripe there), and further offset the girliness with the addition of one or two other flourescent colours (orange, yellow, green).

*maybe he'd like to help create a big, splashy painting to hang in his room?

*you could diy a felt board (in pink, or whatever colour you like) quite easily by gluing a sheet of felt onto a large piece of foam core. then you can create little characters and scenes out of smaller pieces of felt to reposition and play with.

*you might also diy some artwork by manipulating a landscape or other image to have a pink tone, blow it up to a large size and frame it.

*i've also seen some great examples of washi tape used on walls, this would be a renter-friendly way to add colour to the walls without painting.

yep, she's awesome. she also painted the picture frames with a gold-leaf pen, and painted the console/dresser as well. SO many great ideas on her site!

i used this one: http://www.albeebaby.com/suinsuandsed.html and really liked it! i loved that you could just swing it open, since we used ours in a high traffic area and i'm not quite tall enough to step over it.

The faucet in the last photo is the same one I just had installed in my new bathroom! I had a moment of feeling awesome by association. But then I remembered that I don't live in a fabulous townhouse in Manhattan. Rats.

and then there are the paint FAILS that the previous owners of our home didn't bother to rectify...various shades of salmon, and a couple of obnoxious purple walls. whyyyy??

Honestly, I clicked through because my youngest is also a Jude (they seem so few and far between!). :) I really like the contrast of the grey wall with the warm floor, and the uncluttered-yet-not-empty feel. I also agree that the bed is very well done, and I WILL be making myself bins with castors. Lots of inspiration here, thanks for that!
