I think it could definitely work! Each twin is it's own person, even if people forget that. Being a twin, and being called "the twins" instead of by name, and wearing matching outfits gets really boring. It's fun sometimes, but trust me, it gets old. ;) I think whatever you end up doing, just be sure to blend the styles instead of trying to make two separate rooms within the space. Blending is key to any shared space.

If it were my twins, I would love to have a more streamlined crib. I would also have a more streamlined glider and use accessories to help bring the girly, frilly, vintage style and the more streamlined, graphic style together. For the bedding, you could have them match, or have them just be the same colors. But matching bedding would be nice. Really though, matching is fun sometimes. It's more fun to be different and unique.

My favorites are Nutmeg Logs. My mom got the recipe from a roommate in college and they're the most coveted cookie in our house each Christmas. My favorite thing ever is helping her make them and grating the fresh nutmeg over the rum frosting. Growing up in Arizona, it was the closest thing we had to snow (without driving a few hours) watching that nutmeg fall onto the cookies.

And now my tummy is grumbly. I think I'll bake some this weekend!

You might try something like this pretend sewing machine for now? Along with some lacing cards and embroidery stuff with dull needles for now. Once she's older, you could get her a more legit children's sewing machine, as long as she's still interested.

i'm a little late to this party, but we bought two conversion kits for our crib, when we bought it in the first place. one kit changes our crib into a toddler bed, and the other one into a twin bed. we completely plan on using the toddler conversion kit. we moved to maryland for a job a little over a year ago, and the rooms in our town home are *tiny.* there's absolutely no way i can fit a twin bed in with my daughter's dresser and still have room to move. i hope she'll use it for a couple years until we can move into a house with bigger rooms. and i'm pregnant with my next baby. we plan on getting the same kind of conversion kits for it's crib too. they'll both have gorgeous furniture that they can take with them to college.

as far as potty training goes, we haven't entered that realm. but i'm sure we'll find what's right for us when the time comes.

and goodness. some of you people can sure be rude and snippy. it makes me feel bad for all of the kids who are friends with your kids, because they must be rude too. :( and no one likes a rude friend.

my two year old daughter, paisley, sleeps with a pink blanket ["gigi"] that i had from the time i was a baby. and she rotates the toys she sleeps with every month or so. right now it's two heffalump bumble bees [from winnie the pooh]. one is purple and the other blue. and "baby kevin" [the baby bird from disney's "up."]

but she's rotated through little people animals, books, and other stuffed animals.

her favorite part of the night is when we ask her what toys she wants to go night night with her. she picks up random toys and says, "purple bumble bee go night night with me?" or "pirate book go night night with me?" "milk go night night with me?" until she has at least 2, but sometimes 3 or 4.

when i first saw this, i agreed with seagreen. [and it reminded me of a story i saw on the news not long after i had my baby, about a guy raping a 6 month old...]

however, now that i realize, that it's in the living room, that's a different story. and i completely love the crib and the "sexy."

honey butter is my favorite! i love it on homemade bread the best!

my mom and i took dinner to a family one time who was sick, and in the arizona heat, it melted a little in the car, so it was runnier than normal. we just assumed that everyone knew what honey butter was, but it turns out that they thought it was homemade salad dressing...the next day they commented on how interesting it was. haha! we joke about having honey butter on our salad now.

mh330-
maybe it has to do with the shade of green? like a green with a lot of blue in it, might suppress it while a more yellow-y green encourages it.

i always heard blue shouldn't be used in a kitchen during my interior design classes. because it's the color of a lot of molds. and green and red encourage eating because a lot of fruits and veggies are green and red. and yellow is the most irritating color to the eye, so that's why fast food places use red, green, and yellow so much. like McD's for instance, red makes you want to eat, but the yellow wants you to get in and get out and be fast. [[i'm not saying any of this is proven fact. it's just what a guest speaker and our teacher told us. so don't shoot the messanger.]] ;)

this is sooo wonderful! we're trying for baby number 2 right now, and it's nursery will be 8'11" by 9'3". it definitely is frustrating when all of the catalogs and inspiration homes i see have gigantic rooms.

thanks so much for sharing!

it kinda made me want to barf. and also reminded me of the second harry potter movie when harry blows up his aunt marge/the 6th [new] harry potter movie where horace slughorn has disguised himself as a giant lounge chair. so apparently these just remind me of harry potter in the long run. lol.

i received the pink one a christmas gift from a fellow scrapbooker. however, i use it to hold all of my embroidery things, and not scrapbooking supplies/tools.

but, we are hoping for another baby soon, and this is a wonderful idea! perhaps i'll find some other place to store my embroidery things.

thanks for the idea!

the yellow and white sofa that was from urban outfitters- is it comfortable? we've been eying the green one but i heard they're not comfortable from the one review on UO's website, so i was wondering if i could get a second opinion.

thanks again for sharing! you gave me some wonderful ideas!
