My bedroom door doesn't close. I think it was hung improperly and is about 2" from closing completely.

I don't even go upstairs because it's what I call a "handy-man's special". The original owners from the 40's "renovated" it himself and it's very amateur. The half-bath is atrocious and looks like it will fall through the floor any moment (it wont).

My double-hung windows leave gaps and sink down even when locked. In order to fix it, I've folded a piece of paper and wedged in there to prop them up and keep the wind out.

My basement takes on water if it rains a lot

The original owner had a handicapped shower installed when she became elderly. It once had a beautiful vintage bathtub - now I've got a circa 1988 handicapped shower :-(

I've got a random pencil sharpener in the stairway. This, however, was something that endeared me to the house immediately.

This is cool, but it looks like it either belongs in a night club or in Marilyn Manson's house.

Thankfully no. I remember growing up with torquoise carpet and giant pink couches. The wallpaper was very 80's with giant pink orchids on them. I still have nightmares.

Also my mom is not really big on the idea of cleaning house, if you know what I mean. My time in the military and my rebellion of a messy house has made me quite picky about my surroundings. Everything needs to be tidy or I start to itch.

What brand and colour of paint is this? I love it and think it would look great in my dining room.

The coolest thing in my house isn't even in my house yet. My mom will be bringing my great-grandmothers chandelier to hang in my new home.

I'm a firm believer that your bedroom shouldn't bee too visually exciting. Not saying it needs to be empty and void of interest, but it should be soothing and comforting with nothing too distracting. I love this bedroom and wish I had one as nice as it.

It's easy to not have air conditioning when you live in Ireland. I'm currently working in Arizona and believe me, it's not an option.

Wow, I love that rug. It reminds me of the homemade rugs my mom and grandma used to buy at church bazaar's. Those things are incredibly sturdy - she's had them for over 30 years and still uses them.

A loud scary sounding dog would do the trick. Also, even if you don't have a dog, I would think a beware of dog sign would ward off some. I just bought my first house and then had to leave it a week after I moved in to work in Arizona for a few months, so obviously I don't have that issue....yet.

When in Korea, take off your shoes when entering someone's home. Many people still sleep on the floors, so it's kind of like walking on someone's bed in your heels. Not cool.

When eating, it's perfectly acceptable to slurp and smack your food, especially soup. They are very slurpy and smacky - mainly I think because they like to serve thier soup nearly at the point of boiling, so it helps cool it off.

Popping and smacking gum in public is also totally ok. It bothers some people, but it doesn't bother me in the least.

Korean BBQ!!! Oh man is it the best! Cook thick cut bacon or just pieces of pork on an indoor grill. Load a piece of garlic, meat, kalrose rice (the sticky rice), Korea red pepper paste and possibly some asian vegetables, and roll it all up in a lettuce leaf (I like either romaine or butter lettuce) and eat like there's no tomorrow!

When I lived in Korea, going to the Korean restaurants and eating like this was my absolute favorite thing to do. I really miss good Korean food. Sadly, there isn't an asian market or an authentic Korean restaurants in my neighborhood.

The rosemary ones are to die for. I've never tried the others though. It's strange, but the rosemary ones are just sweet enough without being overpowering.

I've got mine in my bedroom simply because it's the only room where it will fit. This idea still doesn't help though - I remember hauling it up to my 3rd floor apartment (no elevator) and nearly killed myself trying to haul it up there. The idea of bringing it back upstairs has derailed my bike riding considerably.

That first picture is awesome. I am going to be flipping a house soon. I think something like this would be fun to have, but I don't think too many people would be into it.

These are beautiful. I wonder if they taste different from typical watermelon? I personally don't like watermelon, but I'd be willing to try these if they taste different.

more lamb than Ireland
a whole chicken (why?)

frozen peas
tilapia
Guinness stew
and a York Peppermint Patty

I hate this idea - it's the "fat free" of the eco conscious. The term "fat free" sounds good, but doesn't mean you can eat as much as you want. Same thing with "green". Just because something is labeled as "green" doesn't mean it is in fact, eco friendly. Yes, the lights may turn off if no one is in the room, but that is something they do to cut corners financially - not save the planet.

Greenwashing gives everyone and all products that give a shit, a bad name. Truth be told, yes it costs a fortune to do the right thing environmentally, but in the long run, it pays for itself.
