I live alone, so I don't really have to worry about it either way. When I've lived with other people, I think my "rules" were pretty minimal -- basic cleanliness. Don't leave globs of hair products or toothpaste in the tub or sink, etc. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Bathroom Etiquette |

Wow! I really love this. The mixture of styles is creative and looks very natural. I can tell that a lot of thought and consideration went into the creation of this home, but it doesn't look staged or contrived. I am drooling over the built-ins, especially the bookcases on the stairs! Beautiful choice of artwork. I could go on and on... This place also looks much larger than 1500 square feet! I'd love to see the facade and the band practice space, too. Thanks for the extensive info on your sources. Apartment Therapy Chicago | CHI House Tour: Christy and John's Logan Square Bungalow |

That color combination is beautiful, although I don't usually like yellows. Does anyone know where to get a similar Buddha candle? Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Thursday Giveaway: 02.28.08 |

I'm with vertigo -- my cats would never stoop to sleeping in something that was actually intended for their use. But they will immediately make a nest out of any soft item (clothing, towel, etc.) that I put down even for a second, and jump into any drawer that I open. Also, I would have to make two of these, or it would be WWIII in my apartment. Has anybody seen the article in the Onion about kitty wars? It's pretty funny. hdtex -- In answer to your question, women do those things because we are trained from a very early age to believe that our value lies in our aesthetic appeal to men. If you brainwash someone from day 1 into believing in her own inferiority, it's not surprising that eventually she'll believe it. Also, is the statement that women are human beings really a "theory" anymore? Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Look! Vera |

I purchased a loveseat, a small side table and a gorgeous, almost mint condition coffee table on eBay, all from separate sellers. All are mid-century modern pieces. I haven't had any bad experiences. I always check a seller's feedback before bidding, and absolutely will not purchase from a seller who has fewer than 200-300 comments or significant negative feedback. To my mind, significant negative feedback is anything greater than .1% of the seller's total feedback, meaning the seller must have 99.9% positive feedback or greater. I also read any neutral or negative feedback to get an idea of the types of issues people may have had with the seller and/or the credibility of commentors. Also, I always check the types of payment accepted; I never bid on an auction if the seller only accepts wire transfers or doesn't take Paypal. Lastly, make sure to check shipping costs, as these can run quite high for large items. Good Questions: Is it Safe to Buy Furniture on eBay? |
