That brownie pancake and cake batter pancake idea is brilliant. I will be making that immediately.

Hello,

I grew up with a pool that looked similar. It bugged my mom for years, and we tried many solutions. Indoor/outdoor carpet looked grimy after just one year being exposed to all the elements.

My mom eventually gave up and learned to live with the concrete surrounding the pool as a "necessary" evil. You might try painting it?

Check out Ikea for inexpensive outdoor furniture and accessories. Good luck!

I had a twin bed for most of my early 20's. I was sharing bedrooms, and when I had my own room it was tiny. I was SO excited when I finally got my full size bed. It's the perfect compromise for me; bigger than a twin (with room for one more) but still space-saving.

I used these on the inside of my closet doors at my old apartment. I put a bra and panties in each little compartment. They fit perfectly, stayed together as matched sets and it was really quick in the morning.

I also put belts, scarves, and stockings in them.

Does anyone have recommendations for herbal teas? It's hard to keep track of which are caffeinated and which aren't. I can't have caffeine, and I'd love some great recommendations.

Did you recover the dining table chairs? If so, where did you get the fabric?

Thanks!

I did pulled pork last weekend as a trial run for this weekend's Super Bowl party.

I followed the post from thekitchn!
http://www.thekitchn.com/thekitchn/ingredients-meat/how-to-cook-and-shred-a-pork-shoulder-079485

@snorkelvik the post says to peel the skin off. We just threw it away.

We added a bbq sauce after it was cooked. I liked that you could have it as bbq pulled pork, or just the way the recipe makes it.

Worked out great for us!

I just heard a story on NPR about keeping bread in the fridge. They said the fridge is extremely dry and storing bread in it can make the bread go stale faster.

My mom always kept brown sugar in the fridge. We never had a problem.

I have tried the popovers a bunch of times and I have very little success getting them to pop. I wondered if the issue was my oven wasn't holding the heat high enough.

I'll try preheating the pan and give them another attempt tonight.

I'm a reformed mess. Allergies and breathing troubles changed it all for me. Once I got down (wearing a mask) and really scrubbed my apartment, swept out all the dust bunnies and cut down on clutter, I could breathe again!

Honestly, eliminating the dust and dirt HAVE made me healthier, and more relaxed. I never realized how stressed out having a messy apartment made me until I had a neat one.

I don't really "trust" anything, but I've got a bunch of boys in the house who will eat anything you put on a plate. I usually just end up trying the recipe.

I get most of my recipes from thekitchn, smitten kitchen and the small collection of cookbooks we keep around the house. My go-tos are The Joy of Cooking and How to Cook Everything by Bittman.

"Ikea is awful..go vintage!" God, it's getting old. Ikea ISN'T awful but it's also not great.

These stackable indoor/outdoor chairs are great for small spaces, and occasional guests. I wouldn't use this as my desk chair but it's more than fine for most situations.

And at $40? I'd rather go to Ikea and not drive all around Los Angeles looking for an elusive (possibly uglier or more expensive) chair.

I tracked down the link!

It's all in metric and by weight! GAH!

I hunted down this

which helped with the conversions.

I'm gonna attempt tonight!

This cake was excellent. I'm a very novice baker and I was a little bit concerned about the egg as a leavening agent. I was patient and it worked!

I'm definitely going to use this as a base cake for other fruits. I'm excited to make this for the holidays!

I use netflix instant on the xbox and it does not require a disc, but does require an xbox live account. They cost about $50 a year so I guess in the long run, the ps3 works out to be cheaper.

I also stream on netflix to my tv using an hdmi cord. This particular set up has been a real winner for a friend who has had some extended hospital stays. The hospital has wifi, and netflix instant provides a pretty great library.

One year, I did Thanksgiving in a restaurant with a few friends. I loved it! It was a little expensive but worth every penny and they sent me home with left-overs. The food was delicious, and it was so relaxing and stress free.
