Very cozy and love the wall decals on the wall above the bed. Where's it from?

Really uncomplicated and beautiful. I love the bedspread - where is it from? The brown color in the dining is lovely!

My bathroom is currently pretty much all white and it reminds me of being in the hospital. I think the before Monet Mural is soothing and comforting, but to each his own. I imagine the rest of the house is pretty sterile as well?

What a fantastic opportunity for your family! As for the bottom floor - part for parking maybe but definitely turn it into some sort of home workshop for carpentry. How ideal to have everything you need right at home....as for the continual remodel definitely seek out salvaged items from other houses/buildings, such as unique light fixtures and doorknobs....

Could be that an animal died in the walls? Is there a basement?Mayo factory nearby? Is a neighbor cooking cabbage nearby?

W.O.W. It's like a vacation getaway I would totally love to stay in. About the rug - not having one makes it feel roomy and spacious. I think adding one would begin to give it a cluttered feeling - which you have really succeeded in avoiding. Your grandfather has great taste.

So glad you went with the granite....as for the sofa and wall color, I think that was a daring choice and it really paid off! It looks totally cozy and I love the frame around the tv. Only thing I am not crazy about are the stacked books. Your place is so elegantly cozy, i would store/showcase them differently to compliment the ret of your great style.

Maybe if you want to keep the white, you could change out the bedside table to something with cleaner lines, to conceal the books etc., and some kind of headboard which coordinates with the bedside table. Keep the plant and maybe add more - gives the room warmth...

I am sorry to disagree, but the brick gives your space such a natural, warm feel. Are you sure you want to do this?
