Love a lot of things here. Wondering if I have the patience for a bird-art piece like yours--it's awesome.

Very pretty, but I am guessing they don't cook much. For one thing, they seem to have lost a LOT of storage by switching out the cabinets for open shelves. I don't see many dinner plates or glasses. They've also lost the toaster oven and microwave, so maybe there is a pantry space we can't see in the shot? Also, I understand wanting to get rid of the exhaust hood but I would only do it with a downdraft range…just don't think it's safe the way they have it now.

lynnindc, of course you are entitled to your opinion! Thankfully, you are not in charge of every little girl's room decor. A lot of us can't stand pink and a lot of our little girls rejected it too. (A one-year-old wouldn't be able to have an opinion, of course, but even by age 3 or 4 my daughter had rejected pink…and she hadn't even had to live in a pink room.:)

I didn't know you could paint laminate.

rmbnn, too funny. I grew up with a couple of chairs like that--I always called them "throne chairs." They ARE ugly, and uncomfortable. I can't remember anyone ever sitting in one.

I agree about waiting to paint. Until you have lived in a house through all four seasons (or at least days with differing amounts of light) it's hard to know what will work best.

Xarcady, I don't like the stove placement between those walls but I purposely moved the refrigerator in my old house to a room off to the side like this house has. I loved it. To me the fridge is not part of the essential "work triangle." You get the stuff out that you need an dthen start cooking.

As for painting, I would leave the island wood and paint or reface the cabinets in white.

Darling. That sleeping nook is perfect. I can't imagine it being any other color before. Love it.

As for the antlers, I agree with cordgrass. I actually have an antler on my fireplace mantel. Why? Because one of my dogs found it in the wooded area behind our house shortly after we moved in, and brought it as a "prize" to the back door (along with another large mystery bone we call "the femur"). I hope I don't get any backlash when I post my house on AT. :)

It's cute. I am sure they are short on space but it's too bad they can't find a different home for the TV. The living room would look so much better without it.

Agree about the handrail. It's just dumb to not have one--and seems not very guest-friendly.

LOVE the tie-dye wallpaper, though!

Absolutely amazing. Perfectly thought out and executed. I love that you fit in the walnut shelf along with the upper cabinets. (As an aside, I have the same IKEA cabinets and my kitchen and I love them too.)

We are a no-shoes-inside household so I provide slippers for houseguests. A lot of our floors are tile and they are freezing in the winter.

I think this home has great potential but I was put off right away at the shot of the dingy front door. I also don't like the easel solution for the TV, because it leaves so many cords exposed. Having said that, I think the owner has a lot of potential and there were some nice color combinations and tasteful choices in furniture.

Since the brick already adds sort of a dark "eyebrow" at the top of the space, how about something that tucks under it, like a fabric roman blind? I would do my best to make sure it doesn't obscure more of the window than it has to. Another option would be matchstick shades. If it were my house and I didn't need the privacy, I would leave it the way it is, though.
