My husband has been on a huge baking kick recently, and I've been reaping the benefits. My favorite so far has been an 80% brioche (80% butter that is!) It was amazing. Otherwise, he's been experimenting with other enriched breads like challah. I'm looking forward to a return to regular old crusty breads for my morning toast. What Kind of Bread Do You Eat? Sell off some of your extra seating (those wicker chairs??) and extra table and buy some new art or wall shelving to fill up some of the empty wall space. The office furniture is jarringly different from the rest of the stuff in the living room, so maybe you could move the office into the smaller room and put the dining table(s) in the living room? I actually like the old rug, but I'd use it to cover up the wall-to-wall carpet in the dining area rather than covering up the lovely wood floor... Arrangement Ideas for My Apartment? I'm dying to do Southeast Asia, but expensive plane tickets + minimal time off for vacation = not feasible. There are too many places I want to go in the area to relegate it to a 1 week trip... If you have space in the living room, I really recommend this sofa bed from Ikea: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90198978/ it's got tons of storage and is pretty multi-functional. If you're doing the sofa-bed thing I can highly recommend this: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90198978/ We have it in our living room and it is the BEST double duty product I've ever purchased. 3 years old and going strong... SO much storage space and really comfy for sofa use or sleeping use. Certainly more comfortable than Hemnes and not much more expensive. Tips for grownup apartment: Storage is very important. If something has to be out in the open it should serve double-duty decorative and functional purpose. The tip above about lighting is a good one, and frames are great too. I say the more lime the better! (salt, cilantro, red onions, and jalapeno help too) Seriously, I make good guac and I think lime's the secret... plus it stays bright green longer, which is good for parties.
