As far as storage, there is no reason to buy new bookcases and storage pieces from ikea every time you move. I have had modular storage--specifically the CUBITS storage system--for over 7 years and 3 different apartments, and in many different configurations. Something like cubits is very flexible, easy to rearrange, and durable. Pineapple stir fry--cook 1 cup quinoa with 1 cup water and 1 cup pineapple juice. then make stir fry (red peppers, scallions) and add pineapple chunks and cashews, and some red pepper flakes--yum. I use Cubits/Cubitec shelving for a room divider. Its been in a few small/cool entries as well. I actually found mine off ebay for $89 set, but I haven't seen them in a while.
