I have icons on my desktop, but I have them hidden and use a desktop menu in the taskbar to access them. Hides the clutter but still keeps my most-used programs in easy reach.

Could You Work With a Completely Icon-less Desktop?

I have a Logitech diNovo Mini that I use for a media center mouse/remote, and I LOVE it. One of the best gadgets I ever bought.

Cut the cord in 2002 and went for years without Hulu or torrents or anything else. It's amazing how much time you find for living life when you no longer have insta-tube.

I don't watch sports, and I couldn't care less about "event"-type programming (parades, etc.). Cutting the cord is one of the best things I ever did.

Why I'm Not Switching to Internet TV Anytime Soon

I already barely watch CBS programming because I can't get it on Hulu. I think content providers shoot themselves in the foot if they don't get on board and try new delivery methods.

Between the free version of Hulu for current programming (or network websites for stuff Hulu doesn't have) and Netflix for stuff on DVD, I don't really see the benefit of HuluPlus. If Hulu doesn't run it currently, almost everything comes out on DVD eventually and ends up available through Netflix. And now that Netflix will stream to my iPhone, I have everything I want without any need for HuluPlus at all.

This is what we need to eventually have "globals" - the personal info/communication devices from Earth: Final Conflict. Best gadget from that show, and most realistic for the future. Can't wait!

(I'm such a geek!)

I quit my cable in 2002. For a long time didn't really follow any current shows, and then Hulu came along...

Now I have an old laptop hooked up to my tv, and I stream Hulu to that. I kinda miss the freedom of not following tv at all, so looking at maybe scaling back the shows I follow in the near future.

I would seriously consider this, but they don't have ANY pictures on the website that are clear enough to see what all the buttons are. Also, with USB slots at a premium, I'm not sure whether I'd want to give up one for this or not.

That is SO much better than the huge honking boxes you have to plug in to use remotes now! I will buy 2 dozen of these when they're available!

Poll options should have been multiple choice! ;-)

My FAVORITE way is via my laptop hooked to my tv. My parents bought a new laptop, and I inherited their old one, which provided a nice little dedicated Hulu-vehicle for my bedroom TV. The problem with that is my little presentation mouse/pointer is SOOOOOOO SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW moving across that big screen, and I have no keyboard (for when Hulu logs you out and you can't get to your queue!). Looking into remedying that soon with a mini wireless keyboard/trackpad</a href>, but waiting to see if the price will come down or more options will become available.

I also watch on my computer while working or surfing at home. Generally I'll go halfsies on my screen real estate for that - Hulu on the bottom, work on the top. Maybe one of these days I'll invest in a second monitor, but this works for now.

I would LOVE to set up a media server, but until wireless input devices get a little more practical, I'm waiting on that step. But seriously, who needs cable anymore? :D

I LOVE my ergonomic keyboards. It's true that they take a couple days to get used to, but once you do, it's hard to go back to a standard. I have two Microsoft naturals - the one pictured above at home (which I used without the plastic lift) and a Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard at work, which I like best of the two. I think the best thing is that your arms and wrists are positioned more naturally. I wouldn't want a standard keyboard for long-term use ever again.
