We had the FLYTTA from IKEA and loved it. It had tons of space on the lower shelves for bigger pots and pans and cleanup was very easy. We put a very large cutting board on top for an almost "butcher block" countertop feel. Inspired By: Stainless Steel Kitchen Islands Kitchen Inspiration |

We also moved from a two bedroom to a one bedroom and since both our mattresses were the same size (full), we just bought a mattress cover for the second one and keep it under our bed. We bought a plastic, zippered cover that fully encloses the mattress to keep it clean, but it also makes sliding it out from under the bed easier with our hardwood floors. We also bought a cheap bedskirt from Target so the second mattress isn't visible under our bed. Easy! Where to Store Extra Mattress in One-Bedroom Apartment? Good Questions |

I agree that foil baking cups could accomplish the same purpose, as could silicone baking cups, which are reusable, flexible, and easy to clean. They also can be stacked for a much smaller storage footprint than a muffin tin. Making Cupcakes or Muffins with Mason Jar Rings: Does It Really Work? |
