My daughter loves her Q-BA-MAZE.

We have the Big Box set. It's not wood, but is a really creative toy!

My daughters have the Plan Toys dollhouse families and Calico Critters, but the ones they love and play with the most are their Budkins dolls! http://www.budkins.com/home.html

They're from the UK, but you can find some of them on Amazon.

We lived in a 1-bedroom in Brooklyn until our daughter was 18 months old. We divided up our living room into 2 spaces with a Norrebo shelving unit from Ikea:

We used one half of the room as our daughter's play area and designated the bottom 2 shelves of the Norrebo for her books and toys. We also had her changing table in her area of the living room. We decorated her play area with wall decals and a mobile to make it colorful.

We had her crib in our bedroom, which worked out just fine.

I also go my tubtrugs at Gardeners.com. Each of my daughters has one to keep outdoor toys in (like balls, croquet sets, pinwheels, etc.). We keep them on our back porch. The colors they come in are great and they are so affordable.

I bought that same exact binder at Target a few months ago and use it for food recipes that I've either printed out or taken from my magazines. I do like the craft "recipe" idea too!

These are some things my toddler and preschooler like about their rooms:

1. Ikea Latt table & chairs
2. Boon animal bag (stores stuffed animals and doubles as a soft seat)
3. moveable wall decals (we got our from Target and Wallcandy Arts)
5. growth chart (we got our from Petit Collage)
6. Land of Nod large floor cushion for reading on
7. Land of Nod "Works of Art" clips
8. Land of Nod Strapping Floor Bins to store toys & stuffed animals
9. Lots of framed art prints on the walls

We keep the majority of toys in their closets on shelves to keep the room from looking cluttered.

I also strongly recommend avoiding the Melissa & Doug push toys. We got a flapping duck as a gift and it was so hard to push even I could barely make it move. My daughters both have Selecta push toys and they love them! And they are beautifully made:

I completely agree! I love the packaging and the yummy smell, but it left my daughter's hair gummy and tacky-feeling as well. I thought I wasn't rinsing enough too! Won't buy agian for that reason.

The dress and sweater are from Children's Place, but they were bought a few years ago for her big sister.

My daughter has Baby Stella too and and loves her. She also has two of the other dolls from Manhattan Toy, Miss Doria and Miss Dottie. She plays with them every day and sleeps with them too. They're super soft and sweet!

I used our Modernica "Eames" rocker with a Boppy if I wanted to rock my baby. Though it was a bit cold in the winter! Otherwise, my Ikea Poang chair w/ the matching footstool was quite comfortable.

I like the grey color best. I'd pack (besides diapers, of course!) lots of snacks, a bottle, crayons, coloring books, board books, Magnadoodle, a bib, and a change of baby clothes.

I second Snowy, from Tin Tin. I would also add Curious George to the list:
