Is that sofa a futon? As a fellow JP resident I have a typically narrow stairway (no sofas that cannot be disassembled need apply) and have been looking to replace my battered guest room futon frame for ages. I love the look of that.

my mother and I (two avid cooks and bakers) wanted to try making macarons and I must say we were nervous. We researched and prepped and when it came time to start we had trouble because we were SURE they wouldn't come out well, but the were awesome! the only thing we didn't have down pat was our piping but the taste, look and texture of the cookies was awesome. i think they do take attention to detail and some basic baking skills but they were not as hard as they seemed.

Where can I find a fabulous shopping trolley like the one in the picture? I have been searching for a cute one, but here in Boston the ones I have seen are hideous plaid monstrosities.

I have lived in Jamaica Plain for all of my twenties and I love it (came here for college and never left) I also recently moved so I know about the horror of finding a place. The one tip I can give you is to make RSS feeds of preferred searches. I did this for my self and set up a google reader account for my boss while he was apartment hunting and he LOVED it. you can easily click through listings and images without clicking links and backtracking. All the realtors, in JP at least, all post to craigslist so you get the for rent by owers and the realtors' listings.

Cute place! I have the same layout too, but my apartment is in rough shape from decades of differed maintenance and unprofessional "improvements".

I get easily overwhelmed in the wine store and I am very cheap so I hold myself to one criteria that facilitates quick selection with generally good results. I pick Portuguese wines. There generally are not very many to choose from and they are almost always affordable and drinkable. An added bonus is that it makes my husband swell with national pride.

I have this Kenmore 18 inch portable dishwasher http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02214412000P, and it is awesome. My husband (who has dish washing duty most nights) thinks its the greatest thing ever. We're in a rental so we needed a portable. It got clogged once after about a year and a half but Sears sent someone over for free even though it was out of warranty. It's energy star compliant and uses less water than hand washing. We paid $400 for it on sale, which is worth the hours we have recovered.

Wachusett Octoberfest, i had one on draft Friday night and it tasted like heaven.

I would love to know about the price range. I had the heartbreak of a sofa not fitting earlier this year in my awkward JP hallway. I had to downgrade from IKEA to a futon, it was depressing.
