@THORNDALE Our sofa was actually super stiff when it was first delivered, but they assured me it would relax. Within a month it was perfect - definitely not overstuffed - it's just right. I'm sorry you weren't as thrilled with your sofa! I honestly could not be happier with the job they did on ours. Veronica & Keith's Handmade Chic House Tour |

@THESMILEQUEEN Our bedroom rug is from West Elm - we bought it a few years ago on clearance, and it's no longer there, unfortunately. But there's always eBay! Veronica & Keith's Handmade Chic House Tour |

Oh goodness, first of all, I totally love the caning on these chairs - good find! If it works with your decor, I would keep the fabric and paint the wood turquoise. Oh, and I'd personally take the wheels off and replace them with wooden dowels (which would easily screw right in). Have fun! Apartment Therapy Chicago | Good Questions: Ideas for a Chair Redo? |

The timing of this post is funny, because I plan on using those clips for a large curtain on our sun porch soon (and from the picture above, I'm guessing we're using the same wire too!). Apartment Therapy Chicago | Cafe Clips: Hang Your Curtains For Under $3 |

@jplee -- I used plastic polymor wall trim which is much lighter and much less expensive than wood. We rent and couldn't hang the wallpaper directly on the wall, so we made hanging artwork (it's huge - 4' x 6'). We have a retro Vornado as well and I love it. It looks adorable in the kitchen and it is super powerful. We use it year-round -- in the winter it circulates the heat that gathers near the ceiling. Well worth the price. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Catching A Breeze In Style: What's It Worth To You? |

I'd be hesitant to cover an entire piece of furniture (mostly because I have a hard time keeping regular spray paint even), but it would be pretty cool for stencils on fabric. Just one bold graphic on the back of a chair would be pretty cool . . . Apartment Therapy Chicago | Would You Ever Paint Your Fabric Furniture? |

I totally agree that the grey walls should stay and the dark furniture should go. You'll need to keep the path open for foot traffic, so I would only add a comfy upholstered chair (like Harpa's suggestion) at a diagonal in the corner of the wall mural with a small, white or acrylic side table - or even a slender aged brass table to balance the color in the chair. Shelving could be added to the wall next to the closet (hopefully - I can't really see it). Apartment Therapy New York | Good Questions: Using Space without Hiding Wall Mural? |

I could not agree with you more. I would also add a hand saw to your list - it's probably a little bizarre, but we use mine a lot for small projects (like cutting 2x4s to brace the air conditioner, etc). Great idea for a post! Apartment Therapy Chicago | Small Space Checklist: Toolbox Basics |

I gave up my cell phone AND land line years ago when I lived in NYC - I only had access to a phone during the day at work. It was actually kind of fun and opened me up to "drop-bys" from friends, which rarely happens in NY. I don't know if I could do it now though - my texting friends would kill me!
