Candy Crush is addictive, and actually gets harder the farther into the levels you go. I wish I could say I just play it when I'm bored, but no... it's a time suck and I sometimes (allegedly) play it at work. Procrastinator City: What’s Your Favorite Go-To Time Killer Game? |

I have a small (24") TV for watching movies if I have company. But no cable, no netflix, no hulu. In exchange for the savings I get from that, (in my area that's about $200/month for cable) I was able to buy a house in a great downtown area and go out and be social more often. Totally worth it, even after 5 years. How to Survive Without a TV |

Ugh... I was underage and in Vegas for NYE with my PARENTS. I walked right up to a bar and ordered the first thing I could think of- what the 70+ woman in front of me ordered- a Piña Colada on the rocks. I was so excited that I took a big slurp through the straw... without stirring. Solid alcohol followed by a massive attack of coconut cream. It was more than a decade and 2,000 miles before I went back to one of those tropical treats. My Very First Cocktail, Made Better: Amaretto Sour with Bourbon |

I get my recommendations from my library! They have this great service where you tell them 3 books you liked and 1 you didn't, and they suggest some new reads for you. The more I do it, the more they are getting to know my tastes and I've gotten some GREAT recommendations. And best of all, the recommendations AND the books are FREE!! I'm having a house-warming party this weekend, and maybe 10% of people have RSVPed. I knew it would be an issue so I just made it an "Open House" and bought enough food/drink for the people I know are coming. That way, people can show up whenever, and --as an added bonus-- will probably text when they are leaving and ask "can I bring anything" and I can say "SURE we're out of _____ can you pick up a bottle, bag, etc?" Also, the food I prepared is all stuff I will eat if there are leftovers. Party Planning Vent: What's So Hard About RSVPing? |

I just (one month exactly!) moved into a condo with KitchenAid drawers and I LOVE them. It's just me making dirty dishes, and I love being able to run smaller loads. The two drawbacks are that I had to switch from using Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Packs (in delicious-smelling basil) to Cascade loose detergent. Also, I have to hand-wash bigger stuff (giant popcorn bowl, plastic cutting boards, etc). But so far, I like it enough to keep it. All About: Drawer Dishwashers Dishwasher Spotlight |

With a dairy and soy allergy, dessert is often a challenge. However, I made Rick Bayless's Avocado Ice Cream and it is AMAZING. It's like a frozen, creamy margarita. In Milwaukee, I stayed at The Knickerbocker on the Lake, and it was FANTASTIC. No cookie-cutter decor here. Was more like a studio apt then a hotel. Had what looked like coffins embedded in the doors, but after some research, found they were for dry cleaning! Some of the units are condos and some part of the hotel. Easy free street parking or there's a lot that's not too expensive. It was just two blocks from the art museum and a block from Lake Michigan.
