This is such a pretty room! I really like the dark walls, I would not have thought using such a combination in a nursery but it works very, very well! You have great taste.

I love the tree branch over the closet. How did you make it? Are the leaves made with wallpaper? Fabric? I wish I could see a close-up... :o) This is so harmonious; well done!

I really like your drapes. Did you sew them yourself? And the frames are so cute! Very well done.

Love the pillow on the bed!

I don't agree with the comments on the iconic items; the balance between personal items and iconic ones is very well achieved, this looks minimalist AND lived in.

Great job!

@ christine_z: what is your style? I'm very much into the 50s style and my favourite thrift stores are Cité Déco and Jack's (on Amherst Street), Couleurs (on St.Denis), Village des Valeurs (there's one at the corner of Pie IV and Ontario), Armée du Salut (the one on St.Hubert) and Friperie Renaissance (there are several stores in Rosemont, Villeray, Hochelaga, etc.). Good luck!

My husband is crazy about knives, buys them directly from a Japan supplier, sharpens them with a special wet tool, and so on. He installed 2 magnetic strips above our countertop to have them handy. Unfortunately, I happened to break two of his beloved toys while trying to put/remove them from this ?%"$& strip! I would not recommend installing the strips too high, or when you have a goofy wife at home... :o( I personally would prefer to put them in one of those blocks leeschneider just showed us.

This house is absolutely perfect, perfect, perfect.

I don't know why so many people made comments on the 3,500sq.f. surface though... Ok, it's not a 700sq.f. NYC or Paris apartment but it is not a 10,000sq.f. house either. I think even the size of this house is perfect!!!
