I like to put cheese, in my deer burger to add some fat. I also tend to cook it in a skillet with some olive oil which also helps.

I tend to prep before I buy my paint, then I dont jump the gun on my prepwork.

I go buy my prep supplies and find a couple of paint chips or samples i want to decide on, and by the time I'm finished prepping i know what paint to get.

I am a taper, white masking tape sucks. I highly recommend the blue masking tape, easy to put down, easy to see, and comes off in one piece.

Don't cheap out on the paint, it will only cost you more. I like Lowe's Valspar. I have been very pleased with my projects: http://siera104.com/projects/MasterBedroom.html and http://siera104.com/Decor/office.html

I will have to try your wet paint brush trick peggyb!

I made this for my dinning room this summer. I had been looking for a pendent to fit my modern living room/ dinning room. This fit my budget and taste. It actually cost me about $60 to do the project. It took about 2 hours to put together and carefully install. I let my husband, who has macramé talent finish the main cord hanging from the ceiling. I am still pleased with the results.

linbo: The bulbs are super easy to change, a porcelain sockets is found each cluster of all of the bubbles, where you just screw a decorative round light bulb.

Now someone needs to post some resources of where to get kooky loud wallpapers like in this movie. I watched this movie with my old roommate. I loved the sets, especially the art deco-esque wallpapers at the climax of the movie.

I love the kale chips. They have the satisfying salty crunch factor, without the guilt of potato chips.

My mom swears by her Betty Crocker Cookbook from her grandmother. And I occasionally use an edition of Better Homes and gardens which belonged to my great-grandmother and my grandmother. The only thing about these old recipes is I often have to retool them for my vegetarian husband. But I really like the sections on how to entertain and to set tables for different events. The etiquette section is always fun to read too.

I don't go yard sale-ing if I don't need anything. Other wise you end up with a bunch of crap that you will want to give away or yard sale yourself. Also people love to be early birds when they go to yard sales, but in truth people having yard sales like to set up around 7-8 and though the sales may be a bit picked through by 10, the people are often giving stuff away by 11:30 or noon.

I really enjoy California Baby Bug Repellent Spray with Citronella, its about $14 - but this stuff smells so good- with bergamont and citronella, and it truly keeps the bugs at bay.

My grandma has a brown one, she's used it for decades, it is a really nifty stool, expecially since its non slip and double stepped.

I make sure my cushions are vinyl (not very green, but I'm reusing what I have), the real retro (my great-grandma's furniture, circa 1970) ones I keep under an awning. I know the only reason I have such nice vintage outdoor furniture with the original cushions is because my great grandma kept it out of the sun and weather. I am making some vinyl cushions (waterproof) for my seats on my unprotected deck. I am using grandma's retro vinyl table cloth and some old foam I had laying around the house, so if the sun and other elements ruin them I won't feel too bad. I try not to take too many things outside that I wouldn't be too upset if they were taken or be ruined.

I totally go into cleaning mode when my husband is away. I feel the same, when he's home I like hanging out with him. Plus we have different style of cleaning or doing tasks so, I can hang as many shelves and pictures on the wall when he's not looking (hehehe). The cleaning keeps me plenty busy so to not miss him so much. But the best part probably is that he is always impressed when he comes home to a sparkling home, I'm sure Emily feels the same way.

Could you find a tray to set on the stools instead- then it would be removable and the seat could be used for storage too. Put some rubber stops on the tray so it wouldn't slide too much.

What a crazy little contraption! Personally, the handle would become a mess, because if I am reaching for some paper towels my hands need to be wiped. I do like the idea of the foil and wax paper (possibly press and seal holder. To remedy the nicking yourself on a blade, hacking one of those little glider blades for cutting to replace the long toothed blade, could be a possibility.

I seen some kumquats at the market the other week and I was curious, but I didn't put them in my basket. After reading this inspiring post I put the kumquats in my basket. They were delightful and exciting to try. My husband and I really enjoyed them. It's so fun to pop in your mouth and make the sour face. Thanks for the post! I am looking forward to adding them to the weekend recipes.
