As I believe a person's home is their sanctuary and a reflection of the person living there. I would tell your friend to relax and keep it simple. As someone had stated earlier if a potential beau is critical of your home he's lost his potential-you don't want to date him anyway. I do think however that a home should not smell bad, you should always be able to see the floor, and yes clean the bathroom.

Your bedroom looks like a dream, I'm not into monochromatics but you really made it work.

The longest I can handle any guest(s) is for week tops. Also in NYC you have to be careful because if someone stays in your place for 30 days, they legally have the right to call it their home even if they are not on the lease and don't give you a dime in rent. Luckily I found out about this before ever letting anyone stay that long, but some of my friends have not been so fortunate. One of my friends had to go to court to get her "pest" out and it was a horrific experience.

I think it would be like living in a castle; nice if you can afford maid service, but for me I'd be overwhelmed with all the space.

outdoor weddings are beautiful

I try not to use paper towels because they're expensive. But I have to admit I still use them just not as much as I used to. Instead of going through 8 large rolls a months now I maybe go through 1-2 rolls every 6 months (thanks to that wonder product microfiber). I'm all for going green, but I have to admit if it's not practical or cost effective, I through traditional route.

I have to make my bed, if I don't I feel guilty. It's my mother's fault she drilled it into me from childhood (sigh).
