I love my gothic cabinet storage bed....I did a lot of research before I bought it. It was cheap, stained to exactly the color I wanted, and delivered and set up for me in my NYC apartment. The drawer space is huge. The deciding factor for me was that it is a solid platform, not slatted, which makes it more sturdy and firm. And it is a weird feng shui thing about seeing all my junk below my mattress. The solid base gives me more peace of mind, oddly enough. And I can jump on the bed without fear of breaking a slat.

personally I think a cat is much easier to care for than a ferret, or bird or fish. and they make soft pillows

main coons are very dog-like.

I LOVE it. Although darn, rudebega you are absolutely right. My door would get stuck and scraped. sigh

We bought the Penguin last year and LOVE it. We no longer have to carry heavy water/soda bottles up to our apartment, it is environmentally friendly, and it is cheaper in the long run.

I would recommend the higher priced model for two reasons:
--the glass carafes are dish washer safe...the plastic bottles must be handwashed
--it is much quicker and easier than the lower-priced model. put it in, press down, take out in a matter of seconds.

Oh, and much prettier and more interesting to look at.

Fabric my dear! Textiles would really warm up the space. Rugs, pillows, throw, cover the futon. Even a curtain somewhere.

Lamps. A lot of ambient lighting would combat the sterile feeling.

Paint the walls a cozy color. I think even a dark rich color would be nice..

Get the led motion-sensored LED lights. I had the same issue and didn't want to press several button lights every time I used the closet.

Check out Pier 1. There are some colorful tables like that avec curves!

Um. Off the political platforms please. A family pet fits into this blog quite nicely! Apartment Therapy is about design yes, but also what makes a healthy and happy home.

I'm looking for something like this for my small bathroom (minus the mirror). I am in desperate need of storage space. Anyone have lower cost (MUCH LOWER please!) recommendations?
