None of my friends have rooftops to have a BBQ on so we're going to a lawn area by the Hudson. Any ideas for portable desserts that aren't too simple? Ideally, it wouldn't require the oven so maybe something like a key lime or banana pie? What Are Your Plans for the 4th of July? What Recipes Are You Looking For? |

@Tiffax - you described my exact thoughts! I can deal with getting red, which alone is unfortunate, but the added side effects really makes drinking unenjoyable. People comment that they've never seen me drunk and trust me, it's not that I don't like to let loose but I can't deal with the pounding heart, headache and indigestion! I second Cuisinart. I not only broke my food processor bowl but also the ice cream maker cover. The gentleman I spoke to was kind and sent me both replacements for free and did not even charge me shipping! I made salted caramel this weekend and now I know why they say to watch it like a hawk! It quickly went from caramel to burnt caramel! What can I do with it? I'm thinking about swirling it in some vanilla gelato or using it in a salted caramel banana pudding pie. I should probably just ditch it... Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
