This is a really rude post overall & I would want something a little more thought out and intelligent than this from you guys. Labeling someone as the 'worst ever' ? Come one! Grow the up! Don't you think people with food issues have somehow managed to find a way live life and not be ruined by being the worst dinner guest ever? Guess what? I can't eat wheat - I won't die from it, but I will be miserable. if I'm invited to a dinner I ask, 'what can contribute/make/bake/bring so that you aren't trying to cook gluten free. I've learned to be an expert at it - and 99% of the time more than happy to bring food that others may also enjoy. It’s no big deal.

This post just feeds the stereotype of picky eaters who are difficult. It's just life, we all have to eat - and some have to eat differently than others. Life isn't about dinner parties, and being martha stewart, and being a frazzled hostess & then taking it out on unsuspecting guests. Why not interview some of the so called 'worst dinner guests ever' and get a day/week/month in their lives? See how we miraculously manage to cope with all the harrowing dinner parties....

Gluten free is essential to those of us with Celiac or a gluten intolerance. Gluten-lite should be essential for *everyone* I was just recently diagnosed as having a gluten intolerance and have been doing tons of research. It's a good idea as Emily mentioned to vary your diet and incorporate a wide variety of food sources. Many people's diets rely on a small variety of wheat grains - this over-reliance is not only limiting for eaters, it's limiting for the environment and the development of varied food products. Being on the lookput for variety in ALL that we eat is a good practice - it keeps us away from packaged and over processed foods.

If you take a week to be 'gluten-aware' you'll be amazed at how much we take in even when we try to eat healthy...it's everywhere!

thanks for the review Emily! I had never heard of this product and avoided alot of gluten free pastas like the plague for the gluey chewy ick factor. I have tried and liked several corn+quinoa blend pastas as well.

I would ask who would want a bike hanging over their head (or bed)? My bike is well greased and oiled - which means it's pretty dirty most of the time. I ride it just about everyday thru Chicago - there's no way I would bring that in my bedroom or have it hanging over furniture. My bike definitely lives indoors , but it's in the mudroom space of my kitchen.

My mom has adopted several declawed cats and recently she rescued a kitten that was (obviously) claws and all...she was really worried about him with the other cats. We tried the 'Kitty Caps' and was *beyond* surprised how well they work and that the cat never acted like anything was different! I highly recommend them : http://www.softclaws.com/index.php?pet=cat

they were really easy to put on and they fall off as the nail grows (6-8 weeks) then you put another set on :)

We call that little kitten 'Manicure Man' now :)

I just saved my parent's 'painting' from the yard sale! My dad had gotten it thru the divorce years ago and he was cleaning house and knows how sentimental I am and gave it to me - I move soon and have got to find the perfect place for it!

I would post the job at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago's job posting board, 'SAIC Launch'
https://artic-csm.symplicity.com/

I am a graduate of the school and highly reccomend the students there. There is a Designed Objects department there that is amazing : http://www.saic.edu/degrees_resources/departments/aiado/index.html

plus you'd really be contributing to local emerging artist development, something that is really needed right now with jobs in short supply

If you do end up having to go with one of the square ones - mount it lower on the wall. The standard for the architecture firm I used to work for was to mount one of the square ones (high end ones aren't too bad looking) at 18" off finished floor - usually in a space much less obvious than hanging over your head... this requires planning ahead in pretty far in advance to route the venting down the wall instead of leaving it to the last - the HVAC or electrician person will most likely route to the ceiling.
