The best part of trifold mirrors is that you can angle them in order to see your profile and sometimes even the back of your head. Crucial for those complicated hair-dos! Three's Company: Industrial Chic Trifold Mirrors |

This is a perfectly lovely home, but there is absolutely NOTHING pictured here that hints at Taipei, a wonderfully vibrant and colorful city. I'm not sure I see the point of "exciting" international submissions that look like they could be from Anywhere, USA. Colin's Life in Taipei House Call |

I love reading everyone else's stories! I too desperately wanted one, even though I never was really into dolls. My Chinese immigrant parents were totally befuddled. Eventually I got one - the only left on the shelf. I was disappointed to find that it was a bald baby named Imogen Jane. I couldn't even pronounce that until an old lady standing nearby helped me out. Probably played with that thing for like a year, and then it got tossed aside. @happy birthday: Hard-sided bassinets are not an issue because it's hard to block off air circulation against a hard surface. Imagine holding a pillow over your face, vs holding a book. It's Official: AAP Says No Crib Bumpers |

@beccalouisey, that is a completely ignorant comment. The rate of SIDS has decreased dramatically over the past few decades precisely because researchers have observed these patterns over time and identified risk factors just like this. It's Official: AAP Says No Crib Bumpers |

What's with all the haters? The before was awful despite the quirky-cute floors, and the after is simply beautiful. Tubs are big gross monstrosities that are annoying to clean, and this is so much better. I love the tile in the shower - such a clean, unfussy and modern look, and carrying it all up to the ceiling makes the room feel bigger. I could do without the huge square toilet, though the 6'3"" homeowner probably appreciates it. This is a great remodel. Before & After: Jason's Beautiful Bathroom Remodel |

This is beautiful, one of the best DIY projects I've seen posted here for a long time. One quick question - was there a reason to use multiple small blocks of foam rather than one single piece? I realize it could be just because you were using scraps, but I was wondering if there was a practical reason as well. How To: Thrifted Table to a Modern Upholstered Bench |

I used the Scandinavian Design Center window films for both my kitchen and bathroom. I was skeptical too, but was pleasantly surprised by the results. The bigger panels for the kitchen windows were a little more difficult to put up (trapped lots of pug hair, which for some reason seems to be constantly floating through the air in our apt), but the film worked great for the little window in our shower. I used the one with the geraniums and even though I hate all things cute, I am totally in love with how the window looks now. Perfect Window Treatments for the Kitchen or Bathroom? |

I third the black or dark gray walls. I think it could look really funky/sleek to make the cabinets pop against a dark background. Keep the countertops white, and punch it up with a graphic black/white rug and a shiny modern light fixture. How To Update Outdated Oak Kitchen Cabinets? Good Questions |

Your cells would NOT lyse if you drank distilled water. Maybe if you put it directly into your veins, but that would be true for tap water too. In the U.S., tap water by and large (with a few exceptions) is VERY safe. The mineral content is quite low compared to what you get from actual food. This hysteria is hilarious. I miss this show so much. I LOVED the crazy outrageous rooms (especially those by Hildi and Doug!) - there isn't anything nearly as exciting on HGTV/TLC nowadays. Genevieve's design show is utterly boring compared to what she created on Trading Spaces. Trading Spaces: Where Are They Now? |

I agree with the others - the black leather looks nice, and it would be difficult/expensive to re-upholster this well enough to do justice to the design. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the condition doesn't look that bad from here. Cool chair. Suggestions For Recovering Vintage KOSUGA Chair? Good Question |
