It may "just work" but if it doesn't just work the way you want it to then you are likely "using it wrong".

Otherwise it's still ridiculously cool. The only way this could be cooler is if it was a full bus front in a big loft space with working lights and horn for the doorbell.

This is a little bit off topic but I wanted to say thanks for all the recent photography articles. It's actually managed to bring me back to your site. I was checkin in here about once a week but I am back to checking daily. Keep up the good work.

See what happens Unplggd/Apartment Therapy when we get even the smallest amount of attention? Just imagine what would happen if there was a Phoenix AT.

Green Geek. You haven't spent much time in AZ have you? First off the only way to get some serious heavy duty insulation is to build your home mostly underground. There are a few people who do that and since you have only clerestory windows not a lot comes in or escapes. However, Phoenix has ridiculously hard soil so it is pretty tough to make it pay for itself. That's why we don't have basements. Also because we don't have snow most of the rooves here are fairly which means there aren't a whole lot of attics here.

Not sure about a home but a car in AZ heat can reach 160 degreees fairly easily in a summer afternoon. That's noo too difficult to accomplish considering saturday has a projected high of 115 which means parts of town where there are lots of asphalt and concrete will feel more like the high 120's.

Remember this when your AZ friends are sending you two pictures of two pairs of flip flops and asking which one they should wear in the middle of January.

Or if you live in Phoenix, move it outside during the winter for no more than two hours.

"They can't go out of business fast enough for me."

Really? What do thousands of jobs mean? After all if you don't like their particular style or like them as a company the the employees don't really matter.

Personally I like them for some things. Their bedding is in my experience has been fantastic. I enjoy their lighting. As someone from AZ I find it hard to find some decent vintage pieces. I can get a lot of mid century modern out here but that's about it.

Restoration Hardware aims to fill a niche and I think it does it extremely well. Some of their prices are high but if you compare them to Williams Sonoma home suddenly they look like a bargain.

In comparison to where they were a few years ago I'm very happy with them as a retailer.

I live in Phoenix, AZ. It was 99 degrees outside at 11 o'clock last night. I run fans, ceiling fans, the AC, and take around 4 cool showers a day.

But at least it's a dry heat.

I've been eying the dell venue pro for a while now. I've been thinking it's the way I'll be headed next. I've used one for a few days and found it it all around a great phone and great OS.

The best solution I have found was to cut the "L" portion off of an allen wrench and and stick it in the drill just as you would a regular bit. When I was in high school I worked for one of those raw unfinished wood furniture stores where we essentially saw no customers and just assembled furniture all day. This is what we used more than anything else.

The only way I could see this as useful is to have multiples in an office which very rarely but occasionally does need a conference table could push multiples together.

Basically what I'm saying is this is kind of cool but still worthless.

On a larger table that could be used to pull out for dining it might be handy though.

So while we are talking about it here are some other options that will work a little better.

Media Center Master http://www.mediacentermaster.com/
a paid extension of Windows Media Center which will track and automatically download tv torrents.

TED (Torrent Episode Downloader) http://www.ted.nu/
Another tv torrent downloader which has not really been updated much lately but still good.

TV Torrents is an RSS feed for TV shows.

I also find it is handy to go to each of the individual sites of the networks for streaming shows.

Another very simple solution is to install a TvTuner card to your PC. They are pretty cheap and will allow you to use your PC as a DVR.

I was looking at my girlfriend's sub and floor speakers the other day wondering how much trouble I would get in for painting those giant black boxes. I decided it was probably more trouble than I am willing to accept.

So here would be my solution. A small htpc mounted to easel and cut the cable cord all together. Stream everything from the media server that sits hidden away. One cord from the small htpc to the tv and one cord for power. You could also mount a sound bar under the TV so it doesn't sound like crap.

I like the idea of wheeling that tv around. wanna sit on the patio and watch a game? roll the tv outside. Wanna watch a movie in the pool? Roll it outside. Wanna watch a tv show in the bat tub? Roll it to the bathroom. Wanna have to Basketball games on at the same time? Roll it next to the living room tv.

I like options.
