Actually emadams, doorways are exactly where this NorCal girl has been taught to go during the Shakes since toddling days. The header and additional stabilization needed to hold the door frame makes it one of the safest places to be. Your other suggestions are correct as well, tho! Oh you HAD to post this today? I refinished a thrift store mirror that was baroque-y and scroll-y like this one... spray painted it an awesome sea-foam green almost. EVERYONE loved it, and I paid $10 total for the mirror and spray paint. Unfortunately, it randomly fell off the wall this morning, and the mirror broke :( :( Maybe it was a minor CA shake? I work for a printer, and if you have images high-resolution enough, we print on paper for about $4/sqft. Not too shabby! Also, for black and white prints, you could also find a blueprint shop. (We do both!) I also check out thrift stores, I found a HUGE (4x4) print of that guy who does amazing landscape photos (and has a gallery on Pier 39 in sf?) for like $40 yesterday. Wednesdays are my big "sans baby" days. I leave the house in the morning while baby and daddy are still sleeping, go do an hour of Pilates, then head to my mom's house to help with her web marketing. I just came out of survival mode, as my husband was gone for a month. I was home with our newborn! I didn't sweep, or make the bed. Ate lots of canned soup. Did the dishes every couple days. Showered at my mom's house while she held the baby. Put the baby in the front pack while I did the chores I DID have energy for. Took a break from working out. Slept in as long as possible. Now he's home, and the minute he wakes up I hand the baby to him, and start cleaning! I am SO thrilled Antonio won! While definitely unconventional, he breaks the "pretty" mold that all the other hosts on HGTV have. Also, he's a guy my boyfriend will watch, a HUGE plus for me (I currently have to watch HGTV in secret). Omg, I want these right now. I used to cross-stitch a lot as a kid, and just finished a bib-embroidery project. This looks perfect for my 6 weeks of MatLeave before baby comes. You know, my mom has some teak bookcase units from the 50s, that the bottom slider shelf part, and the top bookcase part separate. She's talked about getting rid of them, and I bet I could recreate this.... UO's price is prob better than buying Blue Dot somewhere else...but still too high for me.
