Go to Babies R Us and get some kimono-style tops (Gerber) that snap across the front, plus footed pajamas (like carters) that snap in the front or zip up. Newborns poop and poop and poop so often that it isn't worth trying to put on onesies that pull over the head or to bother with pants. Things that go on and off quickly will be best until about 3 months when the poop parade slows down. I have a West Elm wool rug and it's the biggest big purchase I regret making for our home. The rug WILL NOT STOP SHEDDING. We've had it for two years and fibers either pop up and need to be pulled out or fuzz rolls off it like tumbleweeds. I absolutely abhor it, but my husband adores it, so I'm waiting for someone to ruin it by spilling something unsightly on it so we can chuck it. Maybe I should call BP? I registered on Amazon.com because you can add many of the toy brands listed above (Haba, etc.) on your registry, and they also have a function that lets you add products from other web sites like etsy, etc. (since they don't have registries).
