I have 10 ft long island with sink, dishwasher and recycle station. It is wide enough giving comfortable sitting for 6 people on apposite side. Love it. My galley kitchen has long island on the middle with sink and counter chairs on one site. It was white on white kitchen when we got house and changing back splash to colored mosaic tile made big difference. Some of kitchen above can use some colors too.
