FYI, for those of us tuning in through the feeds, that whole "below the jump" thing doesn't happen. With your current settings, we see the whole thing without "read more" links.

I am REALLY glad I didn't get to this post while I was doing some blog-skimming at work this week. I would hate to get called into my manager's office because of an interior design blog.

Silly question -- have the feed URLs changed any? I used to scrape one feed for each of NY, LA, SF and Chi-town. Is there now a conglom-o feed for all the hubs?

"Most sellers who are serious about selling will list a phone number."

No. Sellers who have no problem with people wasting their cell phone minutes list a phone number. Buyers -- or, most often, freecyclers -- who e-mail me to insist that I call them (thanks, I love paying long-distance charges so that you can have my stuff, or just insist that you want my stuff and then never show) tick me off.

Blech.

P.S. When I got the second Roomba, I considered Roombadome.

TWO ROOMBAS ENTER, ONE ROOMBA LEAVES.

I lessthanthree our Roombas. We have a 650 sq-ft apartment and two Roombas. This struck me as overkill when I got the second one, but then I realised that I'd probably never have to vacuum under the sofa again, and I became gleeful.

Our older model was the Red, and performed well when I remembered to get him going (he's relegated to the bedroom now, which requires cable triage before every run, aka unschedulable). Our new hotness is a Discovery Scheduler (I got it from Woot!), which is amazing -- I scheduled it once, and now when I come home from work on Monday ,Wednesday or Friday, the angled lines and spirals on our carpet tell me the apartment's clean. Hint: having to keep the floor for your Roomba is another psychological nudge away from clutter.

I don't think I like the idea of a soothing female voice coming from a Roomba. The beeps of ours are very cute -- a human voice is too close to the Uncanny Valley for my liking!

We named ours Roomba 1 and Roomba 2.

I like The Company Store, but I'm the type who doesn't notice a diff between 300 count and 1,600 count once they've been washed a couple of times.

Important note: That fish tank shown with two goldfish is absolutely too small for them. Goldfish (fancy or feeder) require a minimum of 10 gallons per fish to be healthy. The goldfish is one of the biggest-polluting aquarium fish. They are not bowl fish.

I remember there's an AT post about the Kattbank during Pet Week. The general consensus was that it's cheaper to make your own (http://www.thisoldhouse.com/toh/knowhow/design/article/0,16417,1207059-3,00.html) or get Dave (a woodworker) to make one http://www.woodworksbydave.com/Litter%20Box%20Hiders.htm -- with the Kattbank, you're paying a lot extra for the style.

(Incidentally, trying to post this from Firefox gave me a 500 internal server error. I've never been able to log in properly from Firefox. Someone may need to take a look at the cookies situation.)
