Hello, again, everyone! I am overwhelmed with the responses to my house tour! Thank you all a million times over for all your kind words. They all mean so much to me! More answers to questions:

pier723 - The shoe racks are from BB&B. They are very inexpensive, but not terribly sturdy. Joe screwed them into the doors, which really helps! They have been lifesavers for me! And PacoPuddy, they do not get damp because of the shower…they do get a little dusty sometimes if they’ve been out of rotation for a while

victor908 & ChicagoGirl17 - The branch on my wall is a decal that I purchased from a shop on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop/HouseHoldWords) They made a custom size for me, and were wonderful to work with. I don’t have the chubby chickadee it comes with on the wall anymore, but I love the branch on its own.

Joyfulclover - The print above my desk was my grandfather’s; it was always referred to as his “girlfriend”. I believe it was bought at a furniture store by his sister sometime in the 50s or 60s. That and the turquoise lamp were the two things I insisted on having when he passed away last year. If you look closely, you can see his navy picture on my piano.

Elizaz - I got the frames at Michaels. They were very inexpensive and literally fit around the poster, if that makes sense.

Spicklebee – The comforter was from Target. I bought a little over a year ago. I searched the website and couldn’t find it.

Qtcrondesign – What you see next to the garbage can is actually the original ice box from the 1940s. I use it to store bags, vases, etc. On the upper cabinets I have magnetic spice tins from Ikea. I used a circle cutter and some Martha Stewart scrapbooking paper to make the little covers for them. I did not find any label makers with fonts that I like, so I just used alphabet stickers and spelled out the spices on the paper to label them.

Ghwdesign – you are right on the shoes being in the closet when the door is closed! Joe has been visiting from law school this weekend, so I haven’t had time to make a floor plan. I will make sure we get one up this week!

Once again, thank you to everyone for all your wonderful comments. I am so happy that after all the years of being inspired by the house tours on Apartment Therapy that I can pay it forward to someone else!

Oh my goodness! Thank you, everyone, for all your kind words! This is all so amazing, I am so touched that people love my little home as much as I do. To answer some questions:

-lexinchicago, I was wearing black, suede peep toe booties with a rosette on the side :)

-icarus5 & terrafaith, The rug and side lamp in the “living area” are both from ikea! The milk glass and turquoise lamps are vintage.

-Lady J, I LOVE the idea of painting the arch pink! I never thought to do that!

- citipearl & Lady J, I needed the dresser in the kitchen to store all my pots and pans, and I need the big fridge because I’m Italian and cook only in mass quantities :) Thank you for the small fridge suggestion, though!

- Other Caroline from DC, I’d love to decorate with you.

- omoriala, The bedding is from Target a year or more ago.

-Remy, I got the fabric from Jo Ann’s in late August. I’ve been looking through the website and can’t find it. I’m going to try to find the receipt and get the name. If I do, I will let you know!

- mydoggoose, The coffee table is from Luckett’s (http://www.luckettstore.com/), which is my version of decorating Disney Land. It’s an outdoor table but it’s NOT wrought iron, I think its aluminum. I can pick it up by myself. Another one of those, “I must have it or I’ll die” moments. I have visions of using it in my future daughter’s room someday for tea parties.

-I will work on a nice looking floor plan tonight and see if we can get it up!

Once again, thank you everyone for being so wonderful!

Where did you get/how did you make the spice rack? I live in a very old building with the smallest of kitchens. The cabinet I have to work with is the original 1940s metal cabinet with metal "back splash" where that kind of spice rack would be a god send.

Thanks and you did a beautiful job. You make me dream of day I can do that myself!

I grew up in a yellow house on the opposite side of the country, in the SF Bay area. I love yellow houses, they just make you smile. It might be my fond memories of growing up, but I think that yellow houses are the most inviting and always seem to guarantee the smell of fresh baked cookies are spaghetti sauce the moment you open the door.

My parents paired their shade of warm, buttery yellow with beautiful leafy green shutters and bright white trim. My mother always plants red flowers in front of the house to go with some ceramic house numbers we found in Italy that were the exact colors of yellow and green of the house... with a border of red flowers. I say, go for the yellow, but have a fun accent color, maybe on the door, to set you apart from everyone else. Good Luck!

JCPenny's has great towels, curtains, you name it. After many rolls of the eyes when my grandmother or mother told me to look at their catalog (I was picturing page after page of puffy pink floral comforters), I finally did. The price and the quality is great. I just looked at their current mailer yesterday, and they are having a sale on towels. 6 (2 bath, 2 hand, and 2 wash cloths) for around $26, I think, in a ton of colors! There's also puffy pink floral comforters... if that's your thing.
