There's not much new about this, really. I've known many colleges that use modular furniture. In fact, I thought it was the norm. My college, Hampshire College, gave its students a board, two bookshelves, a set of desk drawers, a dresser, and a bed. I saw some very, very creative arrangements in my time there.

When I lived in Korea, all the houses and apartments there had radiant heating through the floors. I simply turned on the heat in the winter and laid them on the floor. In the summer, they went out onto a line on the balcony.

What a cute idea.

You don't have to wash cloth napkins after every meal. My family washes them with the laundry, about once a week.

I was once bedridden for a month with a staph infection in both my legs. My friends moved my large desk to be next to my bed, and it was the best decision ever. With my monitor next to me, I could use the computer without straining or resting my laptop on my legs, and it gave me a place to put my used dishes, books, bandages, and anything else I needed. They also brought me a wheely chair so that I could slide off the bed and into the chair and then wheel myself down the hall and directly into the shower (this was still in college). Sitting on a chair in the shower sucked, but it was better than sponge-bathing.

I love the idea of turning it into a cat toy.

I LOVE those blue sheets. Where did you get them?

I saw ads for these all the time when I was living in Korea. I almost bought one. They seem really useful!

My mother keeps an old tupperware container on the counter for the same purpose.
