I love Chicago. I live in Chicago. I do not support this bid. The Olympics are a two week event and the amount of money that will take to construct a vessel for it (as opposed to using the numerous stations we already have) is too much to put on taxpayers. Also, this sends the wrong message; what about more funding for education? The CTA is a mess and any improvements promised seemed to be for that purpose instead of fixing it for the locals. These kind of sponges are used in small towns in Mexico, because they are cheap and will last forever. My grandmother would boil new ones in order to get them to soften up and then cut them in thirds to make them easy to hold. Most latino grocery shops have them. She buys homes, restores them, furnishes them and then sells them. She has a pretty terrific eye and she started doing this as soon as she was able to purchase her first home. Pretty smart, I think. I would probably not have someone else do my cleaning, however, I did clean houses on the weekends when my son was young, to make ends meet. Patrick is right, you are providing someone else an income. The only reason I couldn't do is the same reason I cannot get my nails done by someone else, buy flowers more frequently, take cabs, etc.: I would put that money towards buying more furniture. It is a beautiful fireplace and you did a great job with the paint, but I also agree that the darker color looks better. It. It just makes it stand out. My friend told me to sprinle baby powder on my squeaky floors and to make sure I sweep it between the boards.* It sounds crazy but it actually worked and I've only done it twice in almost three years. *Make sure to clean floor of powder residue, as you don't to slip on it.
