When we were kids, my dad was strict about no elbows on the table. I still try to follow the rule, but I think in casual settings it's not really a big deal if they are on the table.

I love hearts of palm! Probably not anything that I would have ever eaten if it hadn't been for a trip to Costa Rica...

If I'm doing soup/stew/chowder, I typically only pair it with bread. Casseroles usually get paired with a green salad (unless I'm doing meatloaf. I usually do roasted broccoli with that). Fish usually gets paired with rice and a simple vegetable (asparagus, broccoli, etc.) I usually do beans with something like tacos or fajitas; I've never been good at figuring out a vegetables to go with those though. Burgers and Sandwiches usually get sweet potato fries or tomato soup.

I finally decided to try this out for my breakfasts this week. I love it! Really fast and even if the avocado has turned a little brown from being exposed to the air (I only use half an avocado a day), it still tastes great!

I mostly use online recipes, but I still do get magazines and will make recipes out of those. Also, I tear out all of the recipes from those magazines that I've dog-eared. I haven't decided what to do with those tear outs though - should I scan them and tag them for reference or should I just go find their online equivalent and ditch the paper?

I freeze them in a ziploc. Even completely frozen, it's easy to break one or two peppers off.

I've always just cut off the ends and hoped the paper came off easily! For those stubborn ones, I use my knife to get under them. But I definitely have to try the whack technique!

I have always used them, just something that I am used to because that's what my parents always used in their coffee. So, I've never noticed an off-taste when it comes to coffee or other drinks. Plus, I know that I am saving on calories - I only need 2 teaspoons of sugar substitute versus maybe a couple tablespoons of real sugar. But when baking, I always use real sugar.

Installing a photoelectric smoke alarm made all the difference in my house. My old smoke alarm would go off if I was charring peppers under the broiler, and it got annoying really fast. Once I put the new smoke alarm in, it hasn't gone off since (except once when I had sticky buns or something totally go crazy in the oven!)

It sounded good on paper, but it's really not that great. It's pretty bitter and dry and could also use some salt.

Very delicious! Even my boyfriend, who is kind of picky about vegetarian meals, said it was awesome! Perhaps pistachios or walnuts next time? Only used 1/2 of an onion too and it was plenty.
