I'm having this very same problem at the moment. I just moved out on my own, renting a room in an apt. I share the kitchen with the landlady and her son. I have my mini-fridge and I'm having trouble being a creative cook without much storage space. Idk which vegetables to buy bc I'm afraid they might go bad. I have 3 tilapia fillets, 4 chicken legs and 2 pork chops and I don't know what to pair them with bc of storage. I can use their fridge, but it's kept so cramped and filthy.

Milk hasn't been an issue bc I cereal for dinner (I'm a 23 y.o. college student). Neither has been yogurt or fruits bc I take them to eat in between classes.

You can also make them with chicharron (you grind it) and quesillo. My family is not from El Salvador, but my mom makes them.

It just baffles me how here,in America, parents have to reward their kids to do shit they are supposed to be doing (chores, homework, etc..) and in other countries some kids don't even have to be told! You people are raising ADULTS not kids! Some of us, who have parents that actually PARENTED, have to put up with spoiled little brats that think they should be rewarded for doing what they were hired to do in the first place. There aren't any gold star stickers in the real world people!

The same thing is happening to my mom's starfruit tree, although she lives in Miami and it's been raining all July. Every single branch is covered with the fruits, even the branches that don't get much sunlight. However, her mango tree only gave out mangos in the parts the sun hit the most.

I only eat pancakes with sweetened condensed milk (like the one used to make Flan) instead of syrup. If I don't have sweetened condensed milk I use real honey. I hate syrup, it grosses me out.

I used to put ketchup on just about everything when I was a kid. I grew out of that.

I hate cold water, it has to be room temp. However juices, milk and such have to be cold it grosses me out when they are room temp especially oj. I like my coffee really hot and will only drink it in the morning. I can only drink tea and hot chocolate at night.

I only eat eggs on top of toast, french toast, or waffle or with a tortilla.

Pork and chicken gross me out even though I still eat pork chops, sliced sandwich ham and the traditional xmas ham and chicken depending on how and who cooks it. I hate turkey. You can't pay me enough money to eat duck or venison.

There is a small list of foods that I don't eat unless my mum or I make them.

I hate the wheat tortillas they sell at grocery stores, if you have ever had a homemade tortilla whether wheat or corn (by someone who KNOWS how to make them) you would hate them as well.

In my parent's home country, Honduras, they have this bread/pastry thing called "semita" supposedly in english it's "sweet and wild bun", some people eat it with soda in the afternoon or in the morning with coffee, they dunk it in the coffee (not done with the soda). This semita is usually at room temp but for the life of me I cannot eat it like that, I put it inside the oven so it gets a bit toasty. And I can only eat the ones made at a pastry shop not the grocery store ones.

Does anybody know where I can get local honey in NYC? I've never tried honey from supermarkets because my grandparents are beekeepers. However they live outside the U.S. so I'm only able to get it when I or my parents or siblings go to visit or when they come to visit.

would it be possible to move that whole kitchen counter to the other side of the room,so there is more space for cabinets. And instead of cabinets use shelves.I would also change the floors and that table.Remove those windows and blinds and make the windows even. The countertop would be nice with a white surface against dark hardwood floors.Bring in a round table.Maybe add a kitchen island, maybe similar to the one in "Earth tone kitchens"
http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/earth-tones-in-the-kitchen-080551.Also that ceiling lamp has to go..I have a lot of ideas with that kitchen.
