@Marlana I mentioned in the content that these students turned to a lot of DIY, thrift stores and flea markets to be able to decorate their homes so nicely on a very tight budget. Please don't think I wrote this post to "look at the pretty pictures", I purposely linked to each and every house tour so you could read what each resident/student said about their homes. You just might find some answers and the "context"/"content" you're looking for. Setting Up Home: Student Style from Our House Tours |

@jrossi1217 that's a great suggestion! I should have mentioned that my first ever duvet was sewn by my mother! we went to bed, bath & beyond and found these really expensive flat sheets that I absolutely loved. Of course we weren't willing to spend $70 per sheet, so we wandered over to TJ Max and found the exact same flat sheets for $12 a piece. Needless to say, we scooped them up and she made them into a duvet cover with silver snap buttons from AC Moore! Budget & Design Friendly Duvet Covers For Under $100 |

@subwayknitter I don't believe hanging a frame over the thermostat creates an air-tight seal ;). we haven't had any problems with readings and our energy bill hasn't changed since we hung the picture. Before & After: Kristen's Seating Area |

@wally3 unfortunately, I'm a renter so I had no say in the selection of the thermostat. It's a bottom of the line honeywell that to us, isn't very attractive. Maybe when we're future home owners & purchase a thermostat we love, we won't cover it up. :) Before & After: Kristen's Seating Area |

The thermostat hadn't been installed in that location yet, which is why it doesn't appear in the first photo. Once the thermostat was installed there, that's when we knew we needed to hang a picture to cover it :) Before & After: Kristen's Seating Area |

We don't let our cats sleep with us at night because they wake us up constantly. I'm not worried about catching a disease from them sleeping with us, I'm worried about actually getting some sleep! When we take naps or just lay in bed they're more than welcome to join, just not at night when we need our beauty sleep :) Furry Bedfellows: Do You Sleep with Your Pet? NY Times |

@MonicaK I hand wash all of my dishes (we have a rental - no dishwasher) - so I've gotten used to a sink full of dishes every few days. :) Perfect Plates For Mixing & Matching |

@verily There's certainly no "wrong" or "right" way to serve oven baked food. We're simply suggesting this product (or a simliar) product for those who don't fancy placing their "regular casserole dishes" on the table. Stackable Oven-To-Table Cookware |

Thanks for the advice, Bepsf! Believe me, we've thought about everything and while your advice is certainly appreciated - we're sure we'll be fine.
