I grew up in the Twin Cities and have happily moved to Minneapolis, bought a house and had a kid. I can't handle my dining options being Applebees or Round Robin. Where would I buy groceries? http://www.coopdirectory.org/directory.htm#Minnesota There are maybe three of the massive list located in what I'd deem a suburb. The idea of taking on a car payment horrifies me.

If I were to leave, as previous commenters said, it's going to be plenty far from the homogeneity of the Twin Cities suburbs. Minneapolis is an awesome place to live, but Twin Cities as a region lacking outside the city limits (St Paul is cool, too.)

I'm pretty sure I could empty all my books into our outbox (office closet). When I do get around to rereading the ones I keep I often think, "yeah, okay, I guess that was good. Not good enough to keep."

I know many high-end office furniture manufacturers do tables that direct wiring through the legs, maybe that's the case!?

Would love to know where that rug is from!

I love the matte finish on the wreath made of ball ornaments. And while these are all very gorgeous, I have to fall back on an argument made in the Guardian today that Christmas shouldn't be too chic.

I agree with all the walkers! It's key to surviving unemployment. It got me out of the house and away from checking my inbox and cell phone every two minutes thinking they weren't working.

living in a larger city, I made sure to take extra time planning the route, and even stuff to see (ie free museums, obscure landmarks, parks, etc) and tried to make myself see them. There was no turning around until I had done them all. Plus, if you stumble on to a little spontaneous wandering , it takes your mind off of the situation.

Best of luck to all!
