I really like the carnival sign. Where'd you get it??

You're not telling me anything I don't know. I was a teacher for an afterschool program for montessori program. The kids were great, with the exception of 3 terrors in all 5 years.

I'm a Montessori kid and I believe in this methodology! Function and form are so much a part of design and making space for thought and exploration while being aesthetically pleasing is a WIN!

@ Kaete, I was not a terror at all. I was a shy, quiet type, read a lot, rarely cried, and loved Alice in Wonderland. Still do.

Where can I find the ottomans???

I just graduated. I was fortunate enough to have decent size dorm rooms, but that was because the rooms with split with two and 3 people. My nephew is in college and so some of my college friends. While we have very nice rooms, and decorate to the max, I can hardly believe that all of these are dorm rooms. Hardly. Everyone in every school I've ever seen get a twin size bed. That already knocks out a 3 of these.

While I'm not a huge Zooey fan, your comment, ChrisGal, is so eloquent and mature. Come On! This is a design blog. I'm getting really sick of elementary school comments instead of respectable critique. I hate when people add stuff just to see their names on a thread.

I love the history surrounding Versailles and Petit Trianon! For my own apartment, I take some of my charm cues specifically from Marie Antoinette! I love this ladder. I wonder where I could find a replica.

The clay is more brown than green but I've noticed that depending on your room/bed color and lighting the clay can appear more green. I have dark furniture and blue gray walls so it looks green.

I'm in my 1st apartment and because I live and work in new york city, I want my apartment to truly feel like an escape. My key ingredient has been charm. I want my apartment to be charming and it took me weeks to figure out that that was what I was going for. Thoughtful details like small flower vases filled with pencils, a comfy rug, nice linens and great art are super important to me. Also just painting a single wall in the room adds instant personality!
