Denver the corgi all the way! I met him in person at the I Heart Denver store and he's just as cute and sweet as in the photo and on his tumblr. (And, um, yes, I'm obsessed with corgis.)

That is the fantastic advantage of having a corgi, assuming that's what your moniker refers to. The disadvantage is the shedding - all.the.frickin.time.

So much to love about your home! It seems so serene and well-thought out, but not overly staged or uptight. And your art collection is wonderful - including the pieces done by your children. :) Also, this is one of the only times I've actually liked open shelves in a kitchen! Perhaps because they are built into the wall and nicely curated...Wonderful home.

@janel: Is the photo for this story from a house tour? If so, which one? Thanks!

Weekend Chores: Flowers, Outbox, Living Room & Lighting January Cure Assignment #17

It's so nice to hear from others who have fallen off of The Cure wagon! Or those who have fallen behind the wagon..but mixed metaphors aside, I think we're all trying to do what we can do, when we can do it.

We're not home very much on the weekends, so the big cleaning projects have basically fallen by the wayside for me. Thankfully, this weekend's project is do-able for me...which is good because we're also working on a non-Cure project: installing more insulation in our attic. Sadly, it isn't part of the Project List.

Maybe there can be posts to continue The Cure through February and beyond? (Hint, hint.)

@Ajmw: yes - I've encountered this too! My spouse did not agree with my solution(s) to our cluttered mudroom - which happens to be both my project from day 5 and part of yesterday's Landing Strip project. So far, I'm just compromising on this: what I want = leashes, gloves, hats, etc. go into bins into a cabinet; what is happening = leashes, etc. go into bins on top of the dryer. If we have company over, I can just move the bins into the cabinet...

One thing that I'm trying to do is to modify our current habits, rather than completely change our habits. In some cases, this might run counter to The Cure, so we'll see...

We have a tasteful cat shelf in our kitchen - it's for our kitties to hop onto so that they can have access to their food bowl. Thankfully, our dog is a corgi who is not excessively interested in trying to knock down the shelf. (Which, btw, is a floating shelf from Smart Furniture.)

I'm tackling a relatively small, but much needed project in our mudroom: setting up space to organize and store our gloves, hats, and dog-related items (leashes, poop bags, etc.) We tend to come into the mudroom via our back door and just drop off our hats, gloves, etc. on top of the washer and dryer.

So, Corelle fans out there: do you use yours for fancy/formal meals? We only own Corelle and I love them, but they seem out of place for more formal settings and just don't feel very substantial. Mind you, when I'm picking up a whole stack of them, I love this fact.

Thank you, Hannah! This does help and I think we'll have to see how the sectional works in our room before we commit to this lamp - though I do like it!

Love your home and especially the art collection. Question: how is the CB2 lamp working out in the living room? We're thinking of getting that lamp to put over/near a sectional, but I was concerned about bumping into it...
